Training task characteristics

Thus, in initiating training program development, it is necessary, according to Goldstein, to consider and analyze not only the tasks that comprise the training, but characteristics of the trainees and organizations involved. 

To determine the deterioration in component performance and efficiency, the values must be corrected to a reference plane. These corrected measurements will be referenced to different reference planes depending upon the point, which is being investigated. Corrected values can further be adjusted to a transposed design value to properly evaluate the deterioration of any given component. Transposed data points are very dependent on the characteristics of the components performance curves. To determine the characteristics of these curves, raw data points must be corrected and then plotted against representative nondimensional parameters. It is for this reason that we must evaluate the turbine train while its characteristics have not been altered due to component deterioration. If component data were available from the manufacturer, the task would be greatly reduced. 

You will need to maintain documentary evidence that these personnel have the necessary education, training, and experience to carry out the tasks assigned to them. This is where job specifications can help. For each of these positions - not the individuals but the position they occupy - you should produce a job specification that specifies the requirements an individual must meet to occupy this position. It should include academic qualifications, training, and experience requirements, as well as personal characteristics, so that in recruiting for the position you have a specification with which to compare candidates. 

Many of these applications require tasks or parts of a task to be categorized according to the SRK scheme. Although this is difficult in some cases, a simple flowchart may assist in this process. This is given in Figure 2.8. This assumes that the tasks will be performed by a worker of average competence. This assumption is necessary, since the actual mode that the task will be performed in (skill, rule, or knowledge) obviously depends on the characteristics of the individual (how well trained, how capable) as well as the task. 

We have seen that RDF descriptors are one-dimensional representations of the 3D structure of a molecule. A classification of molecular structures containing characteristic structural features shows how the descriptor preserves effectively the 3D structure information. For this experiment, Cartesian RDF descriptors were calculated for a mixed data set of 100 benzene derivatives and 100 cyclohexane derivatives. Each compound was assigned to one of these classes, and a Kohonen neural network was trained with these data. The task for the Kohonen network was to classify the compounds according to their Cartesian RDF descriptors. 

As for receivers characteristics, these contain demographic variables such as gender, age, work seniority, cultural and educational background, product or task familiarity and training, and individual differences. The researches on individual issue focus on the Need for Cognition measured... 

The output of the HMM synthesis process is a sequence of cepstral vectors and FO values, and so the final task is to convert these into a speech waveform. This can be accomplished in a number of ways, see for example Section 14.6. In general though the approach is to use the generated cepstral output to create a spectral envelope, and use the generated FO output to create an impulse train. The impulses are then fed into a filter with the coefficients derived from the cepstral parameters. While reasonably effective, this vocoder style approach is essentially the same as that used in first generation systems and so can suffer from the buzz or metallic sound characteristic of those systems (see Section 13.3.5). A major focus of current research is to improve on this.
