Toxicological Profiles from Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry

6 Toxicological Profiles from Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry [Pg.69]

Toxicological Profiles are developed in two stages (1) drafts that undergo a 90-day public commenting period and (2) finals where ATSDR has considered incorporating all comments into the documents and finalized the Profiles after which the National Technical Information Service (NTIS) distributes them. The Toxicological Profiles are available at the ATSDR Web site (ATSDR 2007). [Pg.69]

Each Profile succinctly characterizes the toxicological and adverse health effects information for the hazardous substance described. Each peer-reviewed profile identifies and reviews in detail the key hterature that describes a hazardous substance s toxicological properties. The focus of the Profile is on health and toxicological information. Therefore, each profile begins with a Pubhc Health Statement that summarizes in nontechnical language, a substance s relevant properties. A two-page information sheet, the ToxPAQs, is also available these are also available at the ATSDR Web site (ATSDR 2007). [Pg.69]

So far, 289 Toxicological Profiles have been pubUshed or are under development as finals or drafts for public comment 268 profiles have been published as finals 118 profiles have been updated. Currently, 14 profiles are being revised based on public comments received. These profiles cover more than 250 substances. [Pg.69]
