Toxicological considerations industrial processes

Professional literature should be reviewed. Manuals of analytical methods ( 1,2) describe various sampling scenarios and considerations. Overview references (3) discussing processes similar to the one proposed for study may also be available. Professional publications e.g., The Journal of the American Industrial Hygiene Association, Journal of Occupational Medicine, may outline specific aspects of the process to be studied. Toxicological texts (4,.5,.6 7) provide information about potentially hazardous agents. These sources can provide information about the character of exposure, and their relative expected concentration or intensity, and methods previously used for detection, sampling and analysis. 

Finally, research on toxicology may ultimately generate a level of understanding about the effects of chemicals on biological processes sufficient to permit the development of the gen-eralizable testing procedures mentioned earlier. From the viewpoint of the chemicals industry, this would be a great boon, justifying the expenditure of considerable sums of money on research whose immediate applicability appears uncertain. 

The considerable chemical stabiHty of BTF suggests also its consideration as an alternative solvent for chemical reaction processes (Sects. 3 and 4). The relative stability of the BTFs in general (BTF, PCBTF and 3,4-DCBTF) as well as their desirable environmental and toxicological properties promote their consideration for a broad spectrum of apphcations as industrial solvents.
