Titanium wheels

Fluorotitanic acid is used as a metal surface cleaning agent, as a catalyst, and as an aluminum finishing solvent (see Metal surface treatments). Fluorotitanates are used in abrasive grinding wheels and for incorporating titanium into aluminum aHoys (see Abrasives Aluminumand aluminum alloys). [Pg.255]

The two magnetic stages are a 30-cm radius followed by an electrostatic analyzer with a radius of 43.26 cm. The vacuum system is metal and is bakeable to 300°C. Hand Abrasive Grinding. A clean wheel used only on titanium is important. An open-type wheel containing large grains has been foimd to minimize clogging. Excessive buildup of heat should be avoided to minimize metal contamination. Groimd surfaces should be filed or mechanically finished to remove abrasive particles and particularly any visible metal oxide (bums). [Pg.748]
