Ternary imide

Recently, Wu [37] reported the crystal structure of the ternary imide Li2Ca(NH)2 which was determined using neutron powder diffraction data on a deuterated sample. In his paper, the reaction, Li2Ca(NH)2 + H2 LiNH2 + LiH + CaNH, was indicated. However, with respect to the reaction mechanism of the Li-Mg-N-H system [38], the reaction process in this report was thought to be stopped halfway.

Amino-5 -deoxy-2, 3 -0-isopropylideneadenosine was acylated at N-5 with an activated derivative of the 6-carboxy-2-naphthyl ester of Kemp s acid imide. The resulting molecule possesses self-complementary binding sites, the key feature of replicating molecules that act as templates for their own reproduction. The dimer of this molecule is, however, not very stable K = 630 L mol ). In another recent study, amorphous phosphorus nitride imide (HPN2), a ternary inorganic polymer, has also been prepared via a benzene-thermal reaction of PCI5 and NaN3 under mild conditions [40], The products have interesting morphologies (Fig. 10) of microtubes, hollow balls and square frameworks. Their potential use for industrial application is now under investigation. 

DeMeuse and Jaffe. In another chapter, Brostow et al. discuss the phase behavior of binary and ternary mixtures containing an LCP component. The kinetics of thermally induced phase separation of an HBA/PET LCP blended with poly(ether imide) are described by Zheng and Kyu.

Imidazole also acts as a substrate-competitive inhibitor , forming both binary complexes with LADH, and ternary complexes in the presence of coenzyme. X-Ray studies show that imidazole also binds to the catalytic zinc by displacing the water molecule. The presence of imidazole at the active site also enhances the rate of carboxymethylation of Cys-46 with both iodoacetate and iodoacetamide. This enhancement of alkylation has become known as the promotion effect .Imidazole promotion also improves the specificity of the alkylation. Since Cys-46 is thought to be alkylated as a metal-thiol complex, imid le, on binding the active site metal, could enhance the reactivity by donating a electrons to the metal atom, which distributes the increased electron density further to the other ligands in the coordination sphere. The increased nucleophilidty of the sulfur results in promoted alkylation. ...

However, the fact is that in comparison to ABS with AMS-based matrix only, ABS with imide-based matrix has superior heat resistance properties but has relatively poor fluidity and mechanical properties and therefore can only be used in a limited fashion. To overcome such problems, research in compatibility and thermodynamic studies of the ternary blend comprised of grafted ABS, SAN, and imide-based matrix is ongoing.
