Having an empty house of marriage, for example, doesn t mean that you ll always be single. Just ask Elizabeth Taylor, who has had eight husbands (so far), despite the fact that her seventh house is totally vacant. Similarly, an unoccupied second house of money doesn t mean you re destined for poverty. Look at Bill Gates, the youngest self-made billionaire in history. His second house is empty (as is his eighth house, which is also associated with money). [Pg.169]

There are other salient facts that do not appear in these lists. Thus, we have not included Hugh Taylor s knighthoods by Queen Elizabeth II and Pope Pius XII and his presidency of the Faraday Society. Nor have we mentioned his great contribution to the Manhattan Project. But it is not our intention within the scope of this paper to list every scientific accomplishment or even every facet of Hugh Taylor s complex personality. After a brief review of his early research, we will try to relay to the reader more personal reminiscences of Sir Hugh. [Pg.38]

We are indebted to the contributing authors from both industry and academia. Many of them are veterans and well-known experts in medicinal chemistry. Some of them discovered the drugs that they reviewed. As a consequence, their work tremendously elevated the quality of this book. One of us (JJL) would like to thank his students, Elizabeth N. Cruz, Taylor D. Krueger, Cho K. Lai, Amanda N. Monies, Emily S. Murzinski, Karla E. Rodriguez, and Theresa V. Song for taking part in this writing project. [Pg.350]
