Synergic agent

Halverson et al. examined the fluorescent lifetimes and quantum efficiencies of a very large number of compounds. Their data on the luminescence of various europium chelates and synergic agent complexes demonstrates the efficacy of the sheath. 

Kleinerman and co-workers also point out that synergic agents such as considered by Halverson et al. which coordinate the lanthanide ions through an oxygen atom are in essence a special kind of Lewis base. 

A higher than expected incidence of CHF is also observed in patients treated with DOX and other cytotoxics (e.g., the taxane paclitaxel) or new generation targeted agents (e.g., the humanized anti-ErbB-2/neu monoclonal antibody trastuzumab) [3]. The cardiotoxic synergism of DOX with taxanes or... 

It is very difficult to treat melasma. Better results are obtained if between chemical peeling treatments, patients apply topical depigment-ing agents. The synergic action of the two treatments bleaches the skin and reduces melanin formation.

Considerable synergism was found in the action of the two types of agents, both in vitro and in vivo. Figure 2.5 shows the dramatic increase of epirabicin efficacy in mice breast carcinoma in the presence of p-globin derived heptapeptide, the so called W-hemorphin-5. The data accumulated allow to consider endogenous antiproliferative peptides or their synthetic derivatives as pronusing second line pharmaceuticals for combined application with other drags in cancer therapy.

The use of zwitterionic surfactants commercially has increased dramatically in recent years (U because of their unique properties, such as compatibility and synergism when used in conjunction with most other types of surfactants. This type of surfactant is used in textile processing aids, cosmetic products, cleaning agents, and as antistatic agents. The sulfobetaines have been found to be very good lime soap disperants ( ). 

Synergism with other anti-pseudomonal agents such as gentamycin, polymixins B and E, and even streptomycin, has been reported and is currently receiving study [398, 399]. It may well be that, in difficult cases, treatment with a combination of gentamycin, carbenicillin and cloxacillin (or with a polymyxin and the penicillins) will be necessary.
