Sustainable development parameter

As is well known, the concept of sustainable development includes three aspects, namely environmental, economic and social. Underestimating any of these facets will lead to a distortion in this equilateral triangle and to a deviation from the overall strategy of sustainability. This strategy can only be implemented when the three tasks are fulfilled simultaneously. The systems approach reveals strong interactions between the three factors of sustainable development. The sustainability will therefore be determined mainly by those parameters that affect at least two of the three factors. 

On one hand, Responsible Care is seen as compliance focused and, while considered a component of sustainability, does not currently offer the platform for embracing all of the concepts of sustainability (focus groups above Sustain Ability, 2004). Responsible Care is viewed as a sector-specific collaborative initiative, whereas sustainability broadly encompasses issues of competitive positioning and business growth, which involve full engagement of internal and external stakeholders. Even as Responsible Care expands focus to include more sustainability parameters, it is not (seen as) sufficient to drive an overall sustainability program, performance, and the business value derived from sustainable development (Savitz, Chapter 8, Section 8.2).

It is essential to know better the natural fluxes (anthropogenic fluxes are rather well estimated) and their variations, but even more important is knowledge about the biosphere-atmosphere interaction What processes control the environmental parameters that themselves maintain life on earth We can then ask another question What is the threshold of quantitative change (of any parameter) leading to a new quality of life Finally, we have to answer (or to define) what changes in air, soil and water quality humankind can even accept in future against the background of sustainable development. 

Electrodeposition of metal onto structured objects, such as circuits, is controlled in part by a template. At the same time, the deposit must fill all the recesses uniformly and seamlessly, the texture and crystal structure must fall within tolerances, and the quality of the features must be sustained over a large workpiece. The distribution of material within recesses or onto widely separated portions of the workpiece is subject to a limited number of macroscopic control-parameters such as applied potential and plating bath composition. Success therefore depends on exploitation of the natural pathways of the process. The spontaneous and unconstrained development of structure must be taken into consideration in the production of highly organized and functional patterns.
