The roller bottle system is a multiple process requiring considerable staff time for repeated manipulations. Thus many modifications have been introduced that increase the efficiency or surface area capacity of roller bottles. Some examples are as follows  [Pg.229]

Perfusion. Specially modified swivel caps have been developed that allow continuous perfusion of roller bottles (e.g. Bellco Autoharvester, New Brunswick apparatus). [Pg.229]

Spira-Cell Multi-Surface Roller Bottle (Bibby Sterihn Ltd). This bottle contains a spiral polystyrene cartridge on which cells grow on both sides of the film 3000-cm, 4500-cm and bOOO-cm sizes are available. [Pg.229]

Extended Surface Area Roller Bottle (ESRB) (Bibby Sterilin Ltd). This polystyrene bottle has a ribbed or corrugated surface, doubling the surface area of the SSO-cm flask to 1700 cm.  [Pg.230]

Bellco-Corbeil Culture System (Bellco). A roller bottle is packed with a cluster of small glass tubes (arranged in parallel and separated by silicone spacer rings). Models are available in lOOO-cm, 10 OOO-cm and 15 000-cm sizes. Medium is perfused through the vessel and the bottles rotate 360° in alternate directions to avoid tube twisting and the need for special caps. [Pg.230]

Liquid chromatography is the core preparative technique in protein purification, and all supplementary procedures like extraction, centrifugation and filtration, ultimately serve to condition the protein solution for chromatography. A series of chromatographic steps, usually termed capture, intermediate purification and polishing, mak-... [Pg.224]

The States may issue supplementary procedural requirements for the implementation of the principles and obligations and the supplementary provisions for contaminated sites (Article 21). [Pg.238]

Managing electronic records and electronic signatures may be handled with separate SOPs or integrated into the above. An abridged set of procedures will be appropriate for small systems, but supplementary procedures will be needed for larger ones. [Pg.53]

For studies involving metabohsm-mediated effects of xenobiotics, cells that are known to contain the requisite mixed-function oxygenases should be selected. As an alternative, an S9 hepatic microsomal fraction (see Supplementary procedure bioactivation) can be included in the test medium (Borenfreund Puerner, 1987). Serum concentrations should be kept as low as tolerated (or eliminated as in a defined medium) to prevent binding of the test agent to serum components. [Pg.66]

SUPPLEMENTARY PROCEDURE ANALYSIS OF CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION RATES IN THE FIXED-BED POROUS-GLASS-SPHERE CULTURE SYSTEM... [Pg.275]

SUPPLEMENTARY PROCEDURE TERMINATION OF CULTURE AND DETERMINATION OF CELL NUMBERS... [Pg.277]

For outcome at 0.5 mg 1 there is an optionai supplementary procedure to confirm the GHS classification. [Pg.2673]

In the enantio-differentiating hydrogenation of substrates that meet with the "Stereochemical Model", certain types of substrates give almost prefect e.d.a. s. but all others give around a 75 to 90% e.d.a. This section briefly deals with a supplementary procedure, which allows for the imperfect nature of MNi and provides optically pure compounds from the reaction products. [Pg.231]

The botanical materials are usually powdered, and then hot water extraction is performed [72-79]. This will be, occasionally, performed in combination with certain supplementary procedures that include microwave [80-82] and ultrasonic radiation for the effective extraction of polysaccharides from botanical... [Pg.125]

The ICAO Regional Supplementary Procedures (SUPPS) form the procedural part of the Air Navigation Plan developed by Regional Air Navigation (RAN) Meetings to meet those needs of specific areas which are not covered in the worldwide provisions. They complement the statement of requirements for facilities and services contained in the Air Navigation Plan publications. [Pg.27]

The Standards and Recommended Practices in Annex 11, together with the Standards in Annex 2, govern the application of Vtie Procedures for Air Navigation Services -Air Traffic Management and Regional Supplementary Procedures — Rules of the Air and Air Traffic Services, contained in Doc 7030, Annex 11 pertains... [Pg.31]
