Supertropical bleach

One such decontaminant is supertropical bleach (STB). STB is a mixture of chlorinated lime and calcium oxide containing about 30% available chlorine. It can be used either as a dry mix or as a slurry to decontaminate some equipment surfaces and terrain. The dry mix is prepared with two parts bleach to three parts earth by volume. A slurry typically consists of 40 parts STB to 60 parts by weight of water. This material is then sprayed or swabbed on the contaminated surface (see Bleaching agents). STB is an effective decontaminant for mustard, lewisite, and VX. It is less effective against nerve agents other than VX. 

Flush eyes with water immediately. Use, the M258A1, M258, or M291 skin decontamination kit for liquid agent on the skin. Decontaminate individual equipment with the M280 individual equipment decontamination kit. Calcium hypochlorite (HTH), supertropical bleach (STB), household bleach, caustic soda, dilute alkali solutions, or decontaminating solution number 2 (DS2) are effective on equipment. Use steam and ammonia or hot, soapy water in a confined area.

In preparing smaller amounts of either STB (supertropical bleach) or HTH (calcium hypochlorite) solution, the following mixture would apply. For a 5 percent solution, mix... 

STB Supertropical Bleach ( a decontamination agent), a mixture of calcium oxide and bleaching powder. 

If the alcoholic HTH mixture is not available, then the following decontaminants may be used instead and are listed in the order of preference Decontaminating Agent (DS2), Supertropical Bleach Slurry (STB), and Sodium Hypochlorite.

Liq agent on the skin may be decontaminated by use of the skin decontamination pad in the M13 Individual Decontaminating and Reimpregnating Kit, or the new M258 Skin Decontamination Kit Persistency. Depends upon munitions used and the weather.
