In Luke 21 25-28, 34-36, Christ foretells his Second Coming, proclaiming that in the Last Times there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars and the roar of the sea troubling the nations of the earth. They will see the Son of Man coming with power and might. His followers are to pray so that they might avoid the tribulations and stand before the Son of Man. 

Tidal forces have periods of 8.8 and 18.6 years [67]. The variations in the tidal forces arise because the orbital planes of the Moon and the Earth are slightly inclined with respect to each other and because the Sun, Moon, and Earth form a mutually rotating gravitational system so that the magnitude of the tidal force depends on their relative positions. 

In one sense, the creation of alchemy represented a step backward. Even the Mohammedans preserve a record of the tradition in Heliogablus (the Sun-Moon), a Black Stone which hangs suspended in the mosque at Mecca. The concern of cosmochemistry is the investigation of extraterrestrial matter (sun, moon, planets, stars and interstellar matter) and their chemical changes. And although we know better, thinking so didn t make them stupid. The Sun really does look as if it revolves around the Earth. It seems to rise in the east and set in the west. And it always stays within the confines of a ribbon of space that encircles the Earth like a giant hoop. That strip of sky is called the ecliptic. 

The point is this The horoscope is neither a metaphysical construct nor a mystical symbol nor a psychological portrait. It s a map. The Sun represents your conscious identity, while the Moon governs your innermost feelings and subconscious self. The Sun/Moon aspect shows how comfortably these two cooperate. 

If your Sun and Moon are in opposition, you were born under a full moon, a time when emotions run high. Restless and conflicted, you find it difficult to match your desires to your abilities. You attract stressful relationships and may overreact to obstacles. Although a few people with Sun/Moon oppositions screw up in astonishing ways (extreme example Michael Jackson), the opposition also motivates them to J conquer the internal divide and become hugely successful. 

Notice that Saturn, the planet of restriction, is now in her fifth house of children, and Uranus, the planet of the unexpected, is in her eighth house of death and transformation. Those two transits, I should point out, aren t nearly enough to trigger such an exceedingly rare and terrible loss. After all, everyone who had an Ascendant in the neighborhood of 21° Virgo also experienced those transits. A birth chart must show the potential for an event in order for it to happen. And there it is The close opposition of her natal Uranus to her natal Sun, Moon, Mars, and Neptune clearly introduces the possibility of violence. The transits acted on the possibilities already there in her remarkable chart. 

A house is powerful if it holds one or more planets, but even an empty house can be vital. If the ruler of that house is conjunct the Sun, Moon, Ascendant, or Midheaven, the matters of that house gain importance. 

Gemini is especially haunted by the urge to write. Having the Sun, Moon, Mercury, Ascendant, or Midheaven in the sign of the Twins encourages writing ability. 

What is an element To the ancient Greeks, everything on Earth was made from only four elements—earth, air, fire, and water. Celestial bodies—the Sun, moon, planets, and stars—were made of a fifth element ether. Only gradually did the concept of an element become more specific. 

Sometimes, again, it has been supposed that alchemy arose farther to the cast, in Chaldea, or even in China. The Chaldeans were notable astrologers, and they associ ated the sun, moon and planets not only with human destinies, but also with the known metals. Still farther east, in ancient China, alchemical ideas found a place in the comprehensive religious and philosophical system of Taoism. Much later, in the second century a.d., Vd PO Yang, who has been called the father of Chinese alchemy, wrote the first Chinese treatise devoted entirely to alchemy, wherein he described the preparation of the pill of immortality, the Chinese equivalent of the Elixir of Life of Occidental alchemy.
