Students learning style preference

The initial survey was conducted in the first week of class to assess students perception of various learning methods, understand their preferred learning styles, and shed a light on their expectations. After employing the discussion fomms for many sessions and administering five simulation exercises throughout the semester, the final survey addressing the same topics covered in the first survey was conducted. 

Felder (1999) has developed a learning style model, particularly for engineering educatioa The model assesses students on four dimensions of preferences by utihz-ing a questioimaire study that involves 44 questions. We have carried out an experiment on a control group of 52 students (25 male and 26 female), the entire class of VII semester in the age group of 19-20 years, for data mining course to study their learning styles. Multiple Student Focus Groups Over 50 students participated in a variety of focus groups to provide feedback on the design and insights into their preferred learning style. These smdents confirmed that our design and pedagc were appropriate and added value.
