Stimulation of production

Steam drive injection (steam injection) the continuous injection of steam into one set of wells (injection wells) or other injection source to effect oil displacement toward and production from a second set of wells (production wells) steam stimulation of production wells is direct steam stimulation whereas steam drive by steam injection to increase production from other wells is indirect steam stimulation. 

An important implication of linearity in relationships between DOC export and runoff over very large ranges in runoff is that the DOC pool available for mobilization and export by water is very large and not easily depleted by high fluxes of water. As noted earlier in this chapter, this may be a reflection of the strong positive effect of water on soil organic matter storage (stimulation of production and inhibition of oxidative losses) as well as mobilization and transport from soils to aquatic ecosystems. 

Mucous airway obstruction. Expectorants are meant to promote clearing of bronchial mucus by a liquefying action that involves either cleavage of mucous substances (mucolytics) or stimulation of production of watery mucus (e.g., hot beverages). Whether mucolytics are indicated in the common cold and whether expectorants such as bromohexine or ambroxole effectively lower viscosity of bronchial secretions may be questioned. In clinical studies of chronic obstructive bronchitis (but not common cold infections), N-acetylcysteine was shown to have clinical effectiveness, as evidenced by a lowered incidence of exacerbations during chronic intake.

The large bolus of LH released (preovulatory LH surge) in response to positive feedback by estradiol induces ovulation in about 1 day, probably by stimulation of production of granulosa plasminogen activator, which leads to formation of plasmin, an enzyme that may be responsible for the digestion of the basal lamina and, consequently, for the rupture of the follicle (ovulation). 

Product release brought about by lowering the pH of the culture medium was shown in case of Cinchona ledgeriana (42,82,174), Nicotiana rustica (42), and Catharanthus roseus (175). Other successful approaches to stimulate product release have also been reported. Several studies have been carried out on the stimulation of product excretion by extraction of the culture broth with an inert organic solvent (176-181). 

Aldosterone secretion One of the most specific actions of angiotensin is the stimulation of production of aldosterone which occurs in man (2, 23) or dog (29). As aldosterone action is delayed for half an hour, renal effects due to this action are easily dissociated from direct renal action.
