Splitting takes

The characteristics of the azine leuco dyes have been adapted to the development of this new class of leuco dye developers. Sublimable or diffusible dyes are used to cap the 10-position of the leuco thiazine, oxazine, or phenazine dye where the splitting takes place as a result of imaging. The leuco dye moieties are rendered less mobile with long aliphatic chains. [Pg.91]

Matches. Ordinary matches are frequently used to light a single line of fuse. The fuse must be split, taking care not to dislodge the BkPdr filler. The match is applied so that its initial flare ignites the fuse... [Pg.634]

In co-rotating twin screw extruders, in addition to flow splitting at the flight, further flow splitting takes place in the intermeshing zone (see Fig. 9.5). Furthermore, a multi-flighted screw geometry increases the number of partial flows. The number of partial flows equals... [Pg.163]

The magnetic coupling that causes spin-spin splitting takes place primarily through the bonds of the molecule. Most examples of spin-spin splitting involve coupling between protons that are separated by three bonds, so they are bonded to adjacent carbon atoms (vicinal protons). [Pg.582]

Hydrogen adsorption on MgO can, in principle, be either molecular or dissociative. Dissociative adsorption of hydrogen on high-surface-area MgO has already been reported, and both homolytic and heterolytic pathways have been proposed 12). Homolytic splitting is supposed to operate under UV-irradiation only (117-119) and is not discussed further here. Heterolytic splitting takes place in the dark and at 300 K on coordinatively unsaturated (cus) Mg O surface pairs following the schematic mechanism illustrated in Scheme 2. [Pg.19]

A simplified method was proposed by Kundig et al. (9) allowing evaluation of the particle size and the size distribution of a solid by analysis of its spectrum as a function of temperature. By variation of the temperature it is possible to follow the variation of the relative spectral areas of the sextet and doublet. Assuming that particles for which Tj. < Tl and > Tl contribute exclusively to one of the two components (paramagnetic and magnetic), the temperature at which — tl and at which the hyperfine split takes place can be determined V is calculated from Eq. (19) at the temperature T at which the spectral areas of the two components are equal). The dependence of the two spectral areas on temperature in the range in which both components are observed yields the particle size distribution. [Pg.320]

Our theory behind mist formation is schematically illustrated in Fig. 5. This shows the applicator roller, which is in contact with the paper, thereby transferring the liquid silicone to the paper, generating film split. There exists high pressure at the spot where the applicator roller is in contact with the paper surface. This pressure is released when this contact is lost, which causes cavitation. Bubbles and fibrils are formed. Mist particles will be formed if the fibrils break at several places. If one can make sure that the fibrils break at one spot only, a clean film split takes place and no mist will be formed. [Pg.707]

In fact, two different surface sites were found where heterolytic H2 splitting takes place at room temperature and in the dark [9,10] low coordinated ion pairs (O u /Mg tc) embedded in a specific local geometry. In the course of the reaction they are transformed into a vicinal pair of a hydroxyl (OH) and a hydride (MgH) group which are both IR active ... [Pg.238]

The join function has exactly the opposite effect of split, taking a delimiter and an array (or list) and returning a scalar containing each of the elements joined together by the delimiter. Thus, continuing the earlier example, the fields array can be turned into a tab-delimited string by joining on the tab character (whose escape symbol is t) ... [Pg.445]

Mode 2. With this operation model, the mixture is separated by distUlalion to obtain some of the heteroazeotrope in the decanter, and the liquid-liquid split takes place during distillation with withdrawal or accumulation of the entrainer-lean phase and reflux of aU or part of the entrainer-rich phase. A start-up period is needed for Mode 2 as stated in Skouras et al., " where all the mixed phases are refluxed. In our study, this Mode 2 operation will be used to combine two different separation methods (distUlation and liquid-liquid splitting) simultaneously. The batch operating sequence was further modified to combine the start-up period with the next batch operating step to save the total batch time. [Pg.407]

At low temperatures, below T, the phase-splitting takes place when the energy ... [Pg.269]
