Sorbitol 3,4,6-trimethyl

Two groups have investigated compounds containing the coumarin-4-acetic acid system (21). The 3,6,7-trimethyl derivative inhibited calf lens AR by 81 % at 1 x 10 4 M and caused a 21 % inhibition of sciatic nerve sorbitol accumulation in the streptozotocin-induced diabetic rat at 25 mg/kg given three times daily [50]. The 5,6-cyclohexano derivative had an IC50 value of 2 x 10 8 M for inhibition of rat lens AR but was not studied in vivo [51]. 

Eurthermore, elastomeric PUs with flexible degradability were prepared with PCL, HDI, and varying chain extenders [46,47]. Specifically, three new PUs, PU-S, PU-M, and PU-F, with bioactive isosorbidediol (l,4 3,6-dianhydro-D-sorbitol) (ISO), bis(2-mercaptoethyl) ether, and ISO combined with 3,7,1 l-trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrien-l-diaminobutane amide (TDD), respectively, used as chain extenders were synthesized [46,47]. These chain extenders acted as labile units and introduced different levels of polymer chain mobility into the polymeric materials [46]. 

Deodorants mask and reduce odor through the use of antimicrobial agents, e. g., triclosan (2,4,4 -trichloro-2 hydroxydiphenyl ether), chloihexidine [l,6-di-(4 chlorophenyl-biguanido) hexan], fame-sol (3,7,1 l-trimethyl-2,6,10-dodecatrien-l-ol) or mixtures, such as triethyl citrate (- citric acid) and butylhydroxytoluene (BFIT). They also contain oils, such as isopropyl myristate (- fatty acid esters), and - fragrances. D. are sold as roll-ons, aerosols and sticks, based on sodium stearate as the gelling agent for either - ethanol, - sorbitol or 1,2-propanediol.
