FnUy vnlcanized Santoprene is used as a modifier in TPO formulations for soft skins, improved grain definition retention, and cold flow for complex shapes. 

The polymer tested in laboratory experiments in Problem 5.3 is to be injected into an unconsolidated sand formation down casing. Table 5.69 gives the reservoir data. Injection of polymer into this well at a rate of 500 B/D is desired. Compare pressure drop between the injection well and an observation well located 216 ft away. The reservoir is watered out and at ROS. Estimate the pressure drop as a function of volume of polymer injected for the first 15,000 bbl of polymer. Plot pressure drop vs. volume of polymer injected and time of injection. Polymer retention is neglected, and there is no skin in the well. 

The water-holding capacity (WHC) or water-retention capacity of stratum comeum enables not only the state of skin hydration to be characterized, but more importantly, the integrity degree of barrier function. It can be determined by means of a sorption-desorption test based on studying the kinetic of water evaporation (Black et al, 2000, 2002 del Pozo et al, 2000, 2003).
