Silos types

For test purposes it is important that the combustion chamber is of a silo type arranged tangentially. A picture of the gas turbine is shown in Fig. 1. 

Silo type "c" has its discharge outlet above ground level, enabling the clinker to be loaded directly into vehicles. Against this, however, the cost of construction is higher than for type "b". 

Thanks to its large diameter (50 m), silo type d" is characterized by its small surface area in relation to its cubic capacity. The cost is nevertheless considerable. 

Silo type "a" occupies little space on plan, but is very unfavourable because it has a large lateral surface area and, on account of the high ground bearing pressure, requires an expensive foundation slab. Besides, the bucket elevators are very high.

Qualitative Observations. As an example of multi-particle imaging SIMS analysis, equilibrium catalyst sampled from an FCC unit which had recently begun adding fresh catalyst from a different vendor has been chosen. In this situation, we have a handle on the maximum length of time which a new type catalyst particle has been in the reactor, as well as the minimum time for an old type catalyst particle. (Although mixing in the fresh catalyst feed silo adds uncertainty to the situation, as will be seen in the following analysis.)...
