Types of Silos

Each type of silo has both advantages and disadvantages. Spirals require the least maintenance. Bolted construction can cost less than spirals, but with erection costs that can be three tinies higher. Because rubber gaskets are used, bolted silos have a greater tendency to leak. Welded silos have the least manufacturing cost of all, but their installation could be problematic and costly. So it is important to study available storage systems in order to choose the supplier best able to meet individual specification requirements. 

As well as dry matter, factors such as type of silo, degree of consolidation and the nature and pretreatment of the crop all affect effluent loss, but this will be increased if the silo is left uncovered so that rain enters. Effluent contains sugars, soluble nitrogenous compounds, minerals and fermentation acids, all of which are valuable...

Wood powder is a kind of upgraded fuel that is burned in large-scale combustion plants for heat production. However, it is possible to use wood powder for power generation as well. It is a biofuel made of sawdust, shavings and bark. The raw material is crushed, dried and milled to tine particles in order to obtain the best fuel properties. There are many different wood powder qualities dependant on different physical properties such as particle size distribution, particle shape and also moisture content.
