Signal integrity Analog

The complete analytical system is under the control of a Motorola 6802 microprocessor. All switching of gas flows, timing, temperature control, error detection, analog to digital conversion, FID current measurement, signal Integration and manipulation, and data storage and transfer are controlled by this system. 

Separation distances from other cables and other services, on both plan and elevations, where compliance is necessary for safety reasons (e.g., intrinsic safety), for fnnctional reasons (e.g., analog signal integrity), or for electrical interference reasons... 

The current situation offers two different approaches to the quantification of TLC. In the classic mode, data collections are done with densitometers that are equipped with sensitive photomultipliers. Information from a plate comes in the form of a unique signal, integrated in the analog mode, from a relatively big scanning slit, which moves at a speed of a few mm per second (in more modem equipment, it can even increase to a few cm per second). The signal from the illuminated or nonilluminated side is collected, digitized, and processed using a personal computer. 

Signal Integrity Terms for Both Analog and Digital Signals. 

On the analog side, tbe filter is often the conventional resistor-capacitor or RC filter. However, other possibihties exist. For example, one type of A/D converter is called an integrating A/D because the converter basically integrates the input signal over a fixed intei val of time. By making the intei val I/60th second, this approach provides excellent rejection of any 60-Hz electrical noise.
