Bacterial siderophores are another class of widespread toxins produced by bacteria. On land, mycobactins and exophilins are the best-known representatives. Those found in the sea, aquachelins, marinobactins, anguibactin, vulnibactin, and aerobactin (Table 12.3.1) are amphiphilic.
