Separation databases

Electronic mail and electronic conferencing services are not counted as separate databases, but when such electronic services are included with a database they are counted as aspects of the associated database and the database is classified accordingly. Several commercial online services make software databases available online, eg, the Microsoft Programmers Library, MacTutor, and Atari RoundTable. Several producers offer CD-ROM databases containing software. Such software databases contain the coding and documentation for software packages and so are classified as software databases. These are different from directories of software that are classed as directory databases. [Pg.455]

Although the philosophy of CHAOS is the classical one and very similar to that of other programs which work with a "database" (LHASA, SECS, MARSEIL, etc.), the difference lies in the fact that the "substructures" and the corresponding "disconnection tables" are not in a separate "database", but are an integral part of the program itself. This allows fast access to the necessary information. However, the major novelty of CHAOS is, perhaps, the way in which the "substructures" have been organised for access to them. [Pg.417]

The advantage of generic LC/MS run conditions is that it allows the preparation of an LC/MS separation database that can be referenced for compound mixtures from anywhere in the development and manufacturing process cycle. It trades off resolution for consistency, speed, and a decrease in methods development times. It permits creation of a computer-searchable database of information for all of the compounds being investigated in the company. The mass spectrometer provides sensitivity and resolution gain as well as information on retention times and molecular weights. [Pg.193]

Structure-based separation databases integrated with other analytical and pharmaceutical information provides a basis for a significant increase of development efficiency. [Pg.519]

There is no search capability incorporated into this database for retrieving subsets of product entries that match specified criteria. The EMEA Web site also includes separate databases for orphan medicinal products and for veterinary medicines each is accessible from the home page URL. [Pg.111]

The effective access of raw data that has been saved in previous experiments is important for repetition of experiments and to avoid unnecessary calculations. Information that was proved to be useful can be saved and retrieved for later use with other data sets. It is usually recommended to store raw data (input data), descriptors, and query data in separate database entities. By separation of primary structure data, secondary data, and query data, a simple retrieval of a previous experiment as well as the use of already calculated descriptors is possible. [Pg.338]

Enable insertion of derived data in separate tables or separate databases with a mechanism to correlate the derived data with the source data. [Pg.363]

Zhang et al. [25] analyzed thirteen separate databases, confronting them with some of the most widely quoted correlations for two-phase heat transfer in conventional systems. Chen s superposition model gave the best... [Pg.92]

Step 1. Enzyme specificity constraint Some programs preindex the sequence database based on the enzyme specificity, which facilitates the search much faster because tryptic peptides can be indexed and mass lists can be premade. The downside is the necessity of a separate database to be indexed for each enzyme or each time a potential modification is changed. [Pg.426]

The transaction processing should ensure that either all the operations of the transaction complete successfully (commit) or none of them commit. For example, consider a case in which a customer transfers money from an account A to another account B in a banking system. If the account A and the account B are registered in two separate databases at different sites, both the withdrawal from account A and the deposit in account B must commit together. If the database crashes while the updates are processing, then the system must be able to recover. In the recovery procedure, both the updates must be stopped or aborted and the state of both the databases must be restored to the state before the transaction began. This procedure is called rollback. [Pg.722]

With 173 entries in the detector database, it became more manageable to divide the database into those detection devices intended for biological agents and those intended for chemical agents (there are 7 devices intended for both biological and chemical agents and these were included in each separate database). [Pg.255]

Non-structural parameters such as molecular formula, accession numbers (L-number), registrant s name, and date of registration can all be used to refine the search query. These data are included in the CSIS record. Ancillary data contained in separate databases can also be used to restrict or supplement CSIS output. Examples of such data are sample availability, references to compound sources, and audit trails of sample distribution for biological evaluation. [Pg.92]

All repair and supply activities were subject to detailed tracking in two separate databases Aviation Computerized Maintenance System (ACMS) and Aviation Maintenance Management System (AMMIS). The ACMS database tracks all individual parts installed on individual aircraft, flags the required maintenance, and records the history of repairs using each part s unique serial number. The AMMIS database in contrast tracks every step of the process once the part comes off the aircraft. It tracks demand requisitions (orders) placed to the warehouse, and the shipment of good parts to the air stations and maintenance facility, as well as the receipt of failed parts (carcasses), their shipment to vendors or in-house for repair, and their induction back into the system. Historically, there was no connection between the AMMIS and ACMS systems, and there was no advance information regarding impending demands or repair lead times. [Pg.97]
