Sensory Testing Facility

In order to obtain reproducible results, special care must be given to panel selection and panel education, testing facilities, sample presentation and the design of each test. Modern sensory facilities display a kitchen/laboratory for sample preparation as well as separate sensory booths with controlled air and lighting. The evaluation of the sensory results can be supported by specialised computer software packages.

The shape of both the network and the content of the project also relate to the presence of a company s research facility interest in the delivery of new home and personal care products. Two of its research teams, already involved in cognitive neuroscience and sensory physics, have expertise in cognition and in metrology. They also have experimental facilities customised for exploring material sensory properties and cognitive responses. Thus, they are interested in developing test materials.
