Seniority operator

The HAZOP team consisted of a HAZOP leader, scribe, process engineer, senior operator, and afety engineer. Previously, the HAZOP leader collected information on the process design (e.g P lDs, operating procedures, emergency procedures and incident reports) for distribution to each team men The leader sectioned the process and identified process deviations prior to the HAZOP. 

These improvements are more likely to occur at the program and element level. For example, at one chemical company a group of senior operators took an initiative to redesign the work permit process that reduced the number of forms required, reduced the time required to issue a permit from an average of two hours to 30 minutes and improved the workplace monitoring needed to ensure a safe work environment. The reduction in the time to issue permits increased maintenance productivity by at least 10 percent, by reducing maintenance worker time spent waiting for permits. This more responsive system also reduced the number of instances where work went ahead without the appropriate permit.

An important aspect of the company memory is the knowledge and experience possessed by senior operators, supervisors, and engineers. Over the years, many things happen in a plant that are not written down, but the ability to relate new questions or problems to past experience is critical to effective problem solving. 

The seniority number (seniority for short), v, is a quantum number related to eigenvalues of the Racah seniority operator . The seniority matches the electron configuration ln in which the particular term first appears. We will see later that some matrix elements of the operators included in the Hamiltonian are diagonal in v so that their off-diagonal counterparts vanish. For some operators, however, there are crossing terms in v.

There should be one or more senior operatives who are knowledgeable and well trained in precautionary and protective measures and also compliance with pesticide regulations. They should be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of plant operations, applications in the field, etc. No person should work alone while handling or likely to be exposed to anti-ChEs. All regularly assigned personnel, as applicable, should be ttained in environmental protection and pollution control. For most persoimel, this requirement involves little more than making sure that everyone knows that it is completely unacceptable to spill liquids or drop objects overboard. Senior operators and supervisors need to be aware of the allowable limits for discharges of materials such as produced water, and they must know when they seem to be not in compliance with those limits. 

The second signature is that of a reviewer who knows the process being described extremely well indeed. This person will often be a supervisor or senior operator. Their signature states that, to the best of their knowledge, the written procedure or document is accurate. 

In August 1991, the management structure of the Fine Chemicals Division of Hickson International, pic was reorganized. The structure changed from a linear structure to a matrix in which the role of plant manager was eliminated. Instead, the plant was managed through coordination of senior operatives who were appointed to act as team leaders.

Procedure UWNR 153 details responses to riot, civil disturbance, bomb threat, or unauthorized intrusion into the secured area. Operator action is to shut down and secure the reactor and then notify a senior operator and Police and Security. Police and Security personnel then control the event with technical advice from operating personnel.
