Sanctions definition

Although there is no officially-sanctioned definition of what constitutes demolition for the purposes of CDM, and the triggering of the need for method statements, an unofficial rule of thumb which can be followed with some confidence is that demolition proper involves the taking down of load-bearing structures and/or the production of a substantial quantity of demolished material - about 5 tonnes as a minimum. This rule attempts a practical definition based on the level of risk attached to the work. A stricter interpretation would mean that the removal of any part of a structure could be classed as demolition work, and a result of its being followed would mean there would be very few projects which did not fall within the scope of CDM clearly not what was intended. 

The DSM is careful to recognize that culture also determines definitions of mental illness. In the DSM, unusual and distressing behaviors such as culturally sanctioned responses to the death of a loved one are excluded from diagnosis. Most current conceptualizations of mental illness recognize that societal values play an important role in establishing whether something is a mental disorder (Lilienfeld Marino, 1995 Wakefield, 1992). The result is that the boundaries of mental illness are believed to shift as a function of culture, both across cultures and within cultures, over time. One important implication of cultural relativism is that definitions of mental illness will necessarily vary. 

There is a definite need for further work on the compatibility of additives from the perspective of their interfering with biological or chemical processes that are needed to disrupt the plastic matrix.
