Other offices within ODER may become involved in the review process via consults. Eor example, the Office of Epidemiology and Biostatistics analyzes statistical data, the Office of Research Resources provides bioavailabiHty reviews, and the Office of Compliance determines from the results of inspections whether the firms meet EDA s Current Good Manufacturing Practice (cGMP) regulations. Advisory committees composed of independent experts are often asked to meet and further analyze the data. Often they also advise as to what additional data and information may be needed. After PDA s review is completed, PDA issues either a Summary Basis of Approval (SBA) for the dmg or a recommendation against approval. If approved, PDA releases the SBA and a summary of the safety and effectiveness data to the general pubHc. [Pg.84]

The AIChE s Center for Chemical Process Safety has a wide variety of process safety resources. The Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) was established to focus on engineering and management practices that will prevent or mitigate catastrophic process safety accidents. The CCPS has a dynamic program of publications, seminars, training courses, and research. Some topics will be covered briefly here, but for the most up-to-date information, visit www.ccps aiche.org. [Pg.313]

The web is a vast resource for hazard information and advice on safe practices in the chemical laboratory. Many UK and US. university chemistry departments have posted their safety policies and guidance for laboratory workers on the web and added links to other health and safety websites. The websites of the following organisations are also useful sources of hazard information ... [Pg.187]

CLEAPSS provides support for practical work, and in particular health and safely information for school science. CLEAPSS is the source for such useful resources as the Secondary Science Laboratory Handbook srcA Secondary Science Hazcards (providing safety information and model risk assessments for handling chemicals). w.ww.cleapss,prg..u... [Pg.400]
