The viscosity of elastomeric adhesives determines their method of application. Typically, solvent-borne rubber compounds require low viscosities for application. Thus, viscosities lower than 0.6 Pas for spray, curtain or dip applications are required, whereas for brush application viscosities lower than 5 Pa s are generally used. Roll- coating technology requires viscosities between 5 and 15 Pa s.

Although rolling and dipping are sometimes used, power spray painting is the usual method of paint application. Among the coatings used are polyurethane, epoxy, acrylic, alkyd and vinyl based paints. With paints that are oven cured, products must have sufficient heat resistance to survive without distortion, etc. 

The solution was applied to the surface of cold-rolled steel, dip-galvanized steel sheet, and aluminum strip for degreasing and passivating in a single operation at 40°C for 90 s. The surfaces were then lacquered (85-100 pm thickness) and tested in a salt-spray test for 480 h without showing subsurface migration and blistering. The method is especially useful in the automobile industry for coated sheet [191]. 

In dipped goods, a reinforcing edge made by rolling back for a short distance the film of rubber deposited on the former. 

Uranium mineralization in the Windsor area is a typical sandstone roll-front type. The Green Street occurrence that is the focus of this study occurs in thick arkosic sandstones, siltstones, and pebbly conglomerates of the Cheverie Formation (Fig. 2). The occurrence is a remnant tail of a uranium roll front that has subsequently migrated down dip from the outcropping (Ryan O Beirne-Ryan 2007). 

According to Col Fisher (Ref 3) incendiary balls were built up around a core such as small iron shot. Customary procedure was first to dip the shot into a vat of liquid sulfur, then wrap the ball in oakum, redip, roll in fine powder, and wrap with wire. This process was repeated until the diameter of the ball corresponded to the caliber of the cannon.
