Resistor divider circuit

We will now change the voltage divider circuit to use the resistor model RSpCilt. To change the model reference of a resistor, double-click the LEFT mouse button on the text RSguuSS ... [Pg.509]

This circuit gives the user the option to use a DC current or to use a pulsed current as a load (useful for checking load-switching transients of power supplies). The 15 V input signal is dropped to 10 V by a 5 V zener in series. Switch A selects between the simple potentiometer voltage divider circuit (limited to 5 V maximum by the divider resistors)... [Pg.133]

Inverting, Multiplying or Dividing Circuit In Fig. 5.42(a), point s is held at virtual ground, i.e. the potential at point s is actually equal to zero from (2) above. The current i , which is equal to (E-J R,), flows through the resistor R and then, by (1), through the resistor Rf. Thus,... [Pg.158]

In maldug electrochemical impedance measurements, one vec tor is examined, using the others as the frame of reference. The voltage vector is divided by the current vec tor, as in Ohm s law. Electrochemical impedance measures the impedance of an electrochemical system and then mathematically models the response using simple circuit elements such as resistors, capacitors, and inductors. In some cases, the circuit elements are used to yield information about the kinetics of the corrosion process. [Pg.2439]

A simple pulse-shaping modification can be added to the Bessel-Thompson delay filter by using an additional operational amplifier. Resistors are used to divide down the supply voltage to half the output voltage of the delay filter, and its response is then compared with the delay filter s response, which results in a time-delayed square wave. The schematic of this circuit is shown in Fig. 3.31. This simulation also allows us to compare the operational amplifier models that came with each software package. The response of this circuit is driven from rail to rail, providing the saturation voltages of the models. Also, the slew rate of the output should be consistent with the measured and... [Pg.33]

The current that the pressure switch turns on or off is provided by the voltage divider, current reducing circuit in the controller which consists of three resistors. [Pg.240]

A resistor is an electrical component that resists the flow of either direct or alternating current. Resistors are commonly used to protect sensidve components or to control the flow of current in a circuit. Moreover, a resistor can be used to divide or control voltages in a circuit. There are two broad groups of resistors fixed-value resistors and variable resistors. As the name implies, the fixed-value resistor has a fixed value. On die other hand, the variable resistors, sometimes called potentiometers, can be adjusted to a desired value. The variable resistors are used in various drcuits to adjust the current in the circuit. For example, variable resistors are used in light switches that allow you to dim the light. They are also used to adjust the... [Pg.330]

Impedance is the inverse of admittance Z = 1/Y = 1/(G + jwC) = (G — jwC)/ Zp = R + jX. This corresponds to a series RC circuit where both components pass the same current. The voltage is the dependent parameter and divided between the R and C components. The voltage in the capacitor lags the current and the voltage across the resistor. By the same convention, this is defined as a negative phase shift and the voltage and impedance vector is clockwise to the real axis, X = — l/wC and for inductance X = +wL. [Pg.508]

In any parallel circuit, as shown in Fig. 2.14, the same voltage acts across all branches of the circuit. The total current will divide when it reaches a resistor junction, part of it flowing in each resistor. The sum of the individual currents, for example, l-, I2 and I3 in Fig. 2.14, will be equal to the total current Ij. [Pg.83]
