Resist classes

Vluorosilicone. By fluorinating the siHcone polymer molecule it is possible to improve the solvent, fuel, and oil resistance of this already heat-resistant class of elastomers. The resulting polymers are especially useful in select automotive seals and gaskets as weU as military and downhole oilfield parts. 

By referring to NEMA publication ICS 2-213 with the above details, the resistance class can be found. The resistance units are designated by class number, current and resistance. NEMA tables ICS 2-213 to ICS 2-213-5 can be referred to for this purpose. 

The elucidation of the primary site and biochemical mode of action of inhibitors is often difficult and not necessarily associated with the mechanism of resistance in field isolates. Nevertheless, information on the mechanism of resistance can provide evidence to determine the site of action. Therefore, the classification of fungicides is based on crossresistance reactions rather than chemical similarities of structures or proposed modes of action (Table 1). Based on available information in the literature, three categories of inhibitor classes can be made Classes with known mode of action and known mechanism of resistance, classes with proposed mode of action and unknown mode of resistance but wide-spread field resistance, and classes in which resistance is claimed to occur in the field but both mode of action and resistance are not known.

Stain resistance class FR 0 contains all glasses that exhibit virtually no interference colors even after lOOh of exposure to test solution I.

The phosphate resistance class PR is based on the time required to remove a layer of glass of thickness 0.1 mm in an alkaline phosphate-containing solution (pentasodium triphosphate, NasPsOio, c = 0.01 mol/1, pH = 10) at a temperature of 50 °C. The thickness is calculated from the weight loss per unit surface area and the density of the glass.
