Release internal

PVDF resins can be molded by compression, transfer, and injection molding in conventional molding equipment. The mold shrinkage can be as high as 3% due to the semicrystalline nature of PVDF. Molded parts often require annealing at temperatures between 135 and 150°C (275 and 302°F) to increase dimensional stability and release internal stresses.24... [Pg.77]

Caged compounds have the advantage of exhibiting their activities when and where we wish them to do so, in combination with microinjection. Allan et al. S3mthesized a potential photoactivatable caged ABA, the l-(2-nitro)phenylethyl ester (13), which was microinjected into guard cells [16]. ABA was released internally by UV photolysis and subsequently caused stomatal closure. This result suggests intracellular ABA perception. [Pg.332]

In a limited number of sohds, water can be released internally into a structure that is maintained and also prevents escape. Under such conditions a temperature may be achieved at which there is a violent outburst of water (explosive dehydration [173]). [Pg.261]

Because of their high solvent content levels, most adhesives are not joint-filling, which must be taken into consideration in the structural design. The swelling, i.e., solvent uptake, also releases internal tensions and can lead to warpage in stiff plastics in particular. [Pg.246]

The various experimental schemes described above provide complementary information for a photochemical reaction, concerning the energetics, kinetic energy releases, internal energy distributions, and primary photoproduct structures. These experimental schemes will surely develop further as more sophisticated UV and VUV laser and synchrotron sources become available. [Pg.107]

To assess activity at the insect ryanodine receptor, pyridyl pyrazoles of Table II were tested in a calcium mobilization assay, using neurons from the American cockroach, Periplaneta americana. These studies have confirmed the mode of action to be RyR activation. Compounds D11-D17 showed exceptional potency in this assay with activity in the range of0.03-0.30 pM. The data shows the ability of anthranilic diamides to release internal calcium stores while failing to activate voltage-gated calcium channels. Furthermore, calcium mobilization induced by anthranilic diamides is blocked following treatment with 1 pM ryanodine, consistent with action at the ryanodine receptor. [Pg.118]

As with adhesive bonding, surface treatment emd cleanliness is of primary importance when decorating plastic parts. Prior to decoration, the svirface of the plastic part must be cleaned of mold release, internal plastics lubricants, and plasticizers. Plastic parts can also become electrostatically charged and attract dust. This could disrupt the even flow of a coating or interfere with adhesion. Solvent or destaticizers may be used to clean and eliminate static from plastic parts prior to decorating. Cleaning of the plastic part requires an understanding of the plastic material to be cleaned and the effect of the solvents and processes on that plastic. [Pg.815]

Lead-acid battery designs for many small portable, and some larger fixed applications, have often been referred to as sealed and/or maintenance free. This has been an accurate description to the extent that there was no need or opportunity to replace electrolyte. However, virtually no design included a true hermetic seal, and only a pressure release valve which limited inflow or outflow of gas to the cell. The valves released internal gasses at pressures ranging from a few tenths of an atmosphere to a few atmospheres. In addition, most lead-acid battery cases are molded of plastics, which are hydrogen permeable. [Pg.674]
