Partitioning agent

By coating poly-a-olefins with a fatty acid wax as a partitioning agent and dispersing it in a long-chain alcohol, a nonagglomerating, nonaqueous suspension can be obtained [918]. 

Both of the solid forms are supplied by the manufacturer either as a slab or as a uniform, free-flowing crumb and may contain a suitable food-grade antioxidant. The crumb form, in addition, may contain a suitable food-grade partitioning agent. 

In a given system of a polymer, a salt and water, two liquid phases exist with the corresponding equilibrium concentrations of each component. Typically, the top phase is enriched with polymer and the bottom phase is enriched with salt. The phases partition because of mutual "incompatibility" <2>.
