Registration regulation

In US, AF products need a registration both at federal and at state level. Registration/regulation of AF paints is governed by the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act FIFRA (US, 2004) and administered by US Environmental Protection Agency. Extensive data packages need to be submitted by the biocide producers and the paint manufacturers. The decision for approval of products is based upon a risk benefit balance evaluation process. 

The literature is quite conclusive that where judgmental premarket registration regulation is invoked, innovation is markedly crippled. If this is credible, and because we are in the process of using pre-market registration in chemicals, logic and history would not be on the side of the new chemical or plastic innovator as he searches for support for his ideas. 

Registration of pharmaceuticals in Turkey is controlled by the MOH according to the Pharmaceutical Products Registration Regulation which was placed in effect on 2 March 1996. This regulation s goal is to make registrations in Turkey pcirallel to those in the EU. A summary of requirements follows.

About 120 different studies are Hsted, most of which are to be done on technical-grade active ingredients (TGAIs).

The apphcation of many arsenical chemicals are subject to registration and must comply with federal and local government environmental regulations. 

When tolling certain materials, the end of the toll may indicate the need to notify governmental agencies. Notification may be required to end any issued registrations for raw materials, intermediates, product or wastes or to let an agency know that a process is no longer covered under a previously applicable regulation.

ISO 9000 is not a statutory requirement and neither is certification, hence certification is voluntary. However, suppliers may be under pressure to obtain registration to ISO 9001, ISO 9002, or ISO 9003 in order to tender for contracts. Within the ISO 9000 certification scheme, the certification industry is regulated by accreditation bodies. An International Accreditation Forum (lAF) attempts to harmonize accreditation practices world-wide through ISO Guide 61. The accreditation bodies authorize certification bodies to conduct certification to prescribed standards - a process that is called accreditation. The accreditation body performs witness audits and desk audits of the certification body to ensure compliance with the conditions of accreditation. 

This Act has been much amended and now forms a relevant statutory provision for the Health and Safety at Work, etc. Act 1974. Originally it provided for the registration and control of certain classes of chemical works. The Act has now been amended and the classes of premises, the scheduled works , are now included in the Health and Safety (Emission into Atmosphere) Regulations 1983 (amended 1989).
