Recommended Limits

At pressures above the highest real data point, the extrapolated data were generated by the correlation of Lyckman et al. (1965), modified slightly to eliminate any discontinuity between the real and generated data. This modification is small, only a few percent, well within the uncertainties of the Lyckman method. The Lyckman correlation was always used within its recommended limits of validity--that is, at reduced temperatures no greater than 1.5 to 2.0.

It is important to note that back pressure affects balanced PR valve capacities in the same way as for conventional valves, and appropriate factors are included in the sizing procedures. They are subject to the same recommended limits of maximum total back pressure (superimposed plus built-up) as conventional valves. In the case of balanced bellows valves, mechanical considerations must also be evaluated, since they may limit the maximum permissible back pressure.

NOTE All these recommended limits relate to moderately rated FT boilers. Where highly rated FT boilers are concerned, limits should be set significantly lower. Where a higher quality FW is employed, limits may be only perhaps 10% of the above.

Light emission from the chemiluminescent substrate is directly proportional to the amount of the target nucleic acid in the sample, and the results are recorded as relative luminescence units (RLUs). All samples, standards, and controls are run in duplicate, and the mean RLU is used in data analysis. The percent coefficient of variation (%CV) for duplicate RLU for controls and samples must be within the recommended limit for that assay for the results to be valid. For example, negative samples must have a CV of <30% and positive samples <20% in the HCV assay. 

National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) A federal agency that performs research on occupational disease and injury, and recommends limits for substances and assists OSHA in investigations and research. 

Its effects on the body are widespread. Inhalation of the vapor is the most common mode of entry, and when the chemical is inhaled in sufficient concentration, it has an immediate effect on the brain (hence the high that Harry was partial to) and ultimately, over longer periods, it causes damage to the liver and kidneys. WHO global air quality guidelines are available for the following air pollutants particulate matter, ozone, nitrogen dioxide, and sulfur dioxide. The latest revision, which was published in 2005, substantially lowered the recommended limits of particulate matter, ozone, and sulfur dioxide. Airplane travel can increase our exposure to cosmic and solar radiation that is normally blocked by the atmosphere. Radiation intensity is greater across the poles and at higher altitudes, thus individual exposure varies depending on the route of travel. Storms on the sun can produce solar flares that can release larger amounts of radiation than normal. IThese recommended limits are for low-pressure applications with water and other fluids that do not significantly affect the properties of the thermoplastic. The upper temperature limits are reduced at higher pressures, depending on the combination of fluid and expected service life. Lower temperature limits are affected more by the environment, safeguarding, and installation conditions than by strength. 

These recommended limits apply only to materials listed. Manufacturers should be consulted for temperature limits on specific types and kinds of materials not listed.
