Reception Conditions Directive

One of the most dramatic forms of instrumental conditioning can be demonstrated after electrodes are implanted in the pleasure centers of the brain of an experimental animal. If a lever switch is now connected to an electrical device that stimulates this pleasure area, the animal will learn to press the lever. Indeed, it will learn to press it as continuously as possible. Animals have been known to work their paws raw pressing the lever, ignoring food and water beside them in spite of their hunger and thirst, ignoring a sexually receptive mate. Direct stimulation of pleasure centers in the brain can be very reinforcing ... 

An unidirectional RF data transmission principle is used from the wheel to the vehicle. The RF system is designed to ensure reliable transmission of the data in a wide variety of conditions such as statistical fluctuations of reception amplitude caused by varying reception conditions at the antenna. The transmissions take place in the 433 MHz range, the so-called ISM waveband in some territories the 315 MHz waveband is used. Premium systems (Fig. 7.20.7) are able to process the data transmitted by the wheel electronics directly at the reception points by microcontrollers in the antennas. The signals are converted into a suitable data bus format and sent to the control unit by a LIN bus (local interconnect network), for example. 

Between visits to friends around the city, I had plenty of time to ponder what General Clay s reception would be. My thoughts went back to July of 1946 when I had joined Pauley in Paris on his third mission. We had been directed to look over conditions in Germany, but President Truman had also instructed us to attend the Paris Conference. Pauley had divided his staff. Luther Gulick (one of Truman s advisors on reorganizing the executive branch), Pauley, and I checked in at the Prince de Galles Hotel in Paris. The rest of the staff, under Martin Bennett, went on to Berlin. 

Direct reception each signal is received with a direct path and the reception area is unobstructed, these optimal conditions lead to a correct position. 

The coefficient of merit (CoM) is a measure of the chatter resistance of a machine. It is proportional to the maximum width of cut which is unconditionally stable at all speeds. The factor of proportionality is dependent on the cutting conditions but not on the machine structure. The CoM is inversely proportional to the maximum negative in-phase component of the operative receptance of the structure, this being the cross receptance in the direction of the normal to the machined surface, due to a unit representative cutting force in the direction P as shown in... 

Figure 1.17(b) shows the direct and cross receptances of the cast-iron machine. From these the operative receptances are found, presented in Fig. 1.18(c) for the slot cutter and Fig. 1.18(d) for the helix cutter. The particular conditions to which these refer are specified in Table 1.6.
