Commercial instruments are generally calibrated directly in corrosion rate units and conversion factors are utilised for probes of metals other than that for which the meter is calibrated [29]. The most meaningful units for expressing chemical concentrations are moles (or molecules) per unit of volume. The units for expressing specific reaction rates will, then, be concentration change per unit of time. Typical rate units are thus moles/liter-sec and molecules/cc-sec.
