The principles of ecotoxicological quality classification based on the TU index are included in the 2002 recommendations of the Helsinki Commission (HELCOM). The classification applies to samples of treated effluents discharged to waters from industrial plants manufacturing chemicals,98 textiles,99 and pesticides.100 HELCOM recommends testing the acute toxicity of effluent samples using two of the four suggested indicator organisms (Table 9.6).

The electronic nose arrays have today successfully been used in a vast number of applications. The electronic noses are particularly appealing in food analysis since they resemble the traditional way of controlling the quality of foodstuffs. The electronic nose is already applied as a complement to sensory test panels in the food industry for product quality classification. Examples of applications are classification of grains [6] and beer [7]. Examples of other consumables tested are tobacco [8] and perfumes [9]. Applications in other areas such as environmental control and pulp and paper quality are also reported in over five hundred references currently found in the literature on electronic noses.

There is no generally accepted quality classification. Nevertheless, water resistance of an explosive is considered to be satisfactory, acceptable, or poor if the cartridge can still be detonated after 24, 8, or 2 hours respectively.

Automotive production activity is now increasingly globalised, as are also the lubricant companies and their lubricant products, and also the additive companies. The players are now global businesses with common issues to address, well beyond regional and national problems. Whilst European lubricant methods continue to evolve, they increasingly converge with United States and international practice. The environment to which the excipient may be exposed should be similar to that used in the manufacture of the final dosage form. This is especially true in the case of excipients intended for parenterals. For example, controlled areas may need to be established along with appropriate air quality classifications. Such areas should be serviced by suitable air handling systems and there should be adequate environmental monitoring programs. Any manipulation of sterile excipient post-sterilization must be performed as an aseptic process, including the utilization of Class 100 air and other aseptic controls. 

The manufacture of sterile products must be performed as a function of the nature of the product in special working rooms of Class , , C and D according to the table on Air Quality Classification. The air supply of these working rooms must be provided via filters with an efficiency according to the cited table.

The essence of velocity inversion phenomenon is the disappearance structural control effect and integrity enhancement of rock-mass. This phenomenon tells us that the existing quality classification method for rock-mass is flawed. 

For the purpose of feedstock quality classification, mineral deposits that contain a significant amount of MgCOj (5-39 percent) are called dolomitic limestone, while those containing >40 percent are known as dolomite.
