Quality assurance, needs selling

Quality assurance and quality control are the important, unique, and complex area of the textile, apparel, and accessories industries. Quality assurance is not quality control, but quality control is an aspect of quality assurance. Quality needs to be incorporated into every aspect of a product from the original design concept to the marketing and selling of a product. Many organizations, such as AATCC and ASTM, focus on setting standards for the industry. Individual companies look at those standards and set their own specifications based on their target market. [Pg.424]

Impurities in a final product must be known and controlled. Without sufficient control of the quality of the drug substance, the safety of drug product is not assured. The FDA was formed to ensure that companies manufacturing and selling food and drugs control quality in order to protect consumers. Inadequate control of product purity and impurities also indicates that processing is not fully productive, as batches will be destroyed or reworked to improve the quality. With frequent need to rework batches, additional time is justified to optimize conditions. [Pg.259]
