The 129-residue sequence is that of Ibrahimi et al. (1979). As indicated above, position 103 in domestic hen egg-white lysozyme was originally considered to be Asp, but was subsequently shown to be Asn. Unpublished experiments by E. M. Prager on the mobilities of equivalent peptides indicated that 103 is Asn in California quail and bobwhite quail lysozymes as well as for the domestic hen protein (see also Section VII,B,23 and 24). [Pg.244]
