Puffing agents

Puffing agents or materials which decompose at elevated temperatures to gi off water, ammonia, carbon dioxide, or similar gas. [Pg.70]

Puffing agents, or thixotropic agents, increase the paint consistency and minimize sagging by giving a thixotropic consistency to paint (a type of behavior in which the viscosity of the system decreases when agitated, as under the shear of brushing, and increases when allowed to stand). [Pg.3289]

Addition of oxidizing agent to soy flour resulted in a less-puffed or undertexturized extrudates. The extrudate showed rough, discontinuous surface and small dieimeter. This result further proves that the change of disulfide linkages is an essential reaction for texture formation. [Pg.83]

Two PUF sample series were prepared based on polyol and isocyanate. The first series of five samples contained between 0 and 30 phr. blowing agent resulting in foam samples with densities increasing from 23 up to 106 kg/m3. The MDI index (see 4.1.3) of these samples was 110. The second series of four samples consisted of two samples with a MDI index of 90 and two with a MDI index of 125. From each of these two samples one sample was mixed according to the standard procedure, the other was less good or on purpose mixed. Sample disks of 6 cm. diameter and a thickness of 3.5 mm. were machined from these nine PUF samples and used for the dielectric measurements. [Pg.145]

PUPg-PUF decomposes in fluoride complexing agents e. g i. H 0, mineral acids ... [Pg.6]

This system is made up of three components PUF, a protective cover, and a vapor barrier. PUF forms a closed cell waterproofing barrier and provides insulation. The foam is made from the combination of two materials, a resin (containing polyol, catalyst, blowing agent, surfactant. [Pg.572]
