J. Jeener, B.H. Meier, P. Bachmann and R.R. Ernst, J. Chem. Phys., 71 (1979) 4546. Please note this is the first appearance of the NOSY sequence however, this publication deals with chemical exchange. For a quite comprehensive text on NOE please see the above reference by Neuhaus and Williamson.. [Pg.321]

A number of publications dealing with chemical, physical, and electrical properties of polyacetylene have appeared in the past 4 decades.But. the characterization of polyacetylene has not been fully investigated owing to its insolubility and infusibility, and the applications of polyacetylene have been restricted due to poor functionality peculiar to its simple chemical structure. [Pg.43]

The Center for Chemical Process Safety (CCPS) has identified the need for a publication dealing with process safety issues unique to batch reaction systems. This book, Guidelines for Process Safety in Batch Reaction Systems, attempts to aid in the safe design, operation and maintenance of batch and semi-batch reaction systems. In this book the terms batch and semi-batch are used interchangeably for simplicity. The objectives of the book are to ... [Pg.1]

A number of publications deal with Au Mossbauer studies of various gold alloys. As the primary goal of this review is directed towards applications of Mossbauer spectroscopy to chemical compounds rather than metallic systems, we present here a brief enumeration of most of the work by giving reference to relevant publications and providing a note concerning the essential points of interest in each case ... [Pg.369]

It should also be mentioned here that a number of publications deal with the true parallel synthesis of inorganic solids by sputtering and chemical vapor deposition however, these approaches are of major use for other fields in materials science than for catalysis. For a broad overview of synthetic and screening efforts refer to [49],... [Pg.389]

There are several publications dealing with units and symbols of physical chemical quantities. Some also list the values of the fundamental physical constants, as recommended by the Committee on Data for Science and Technology (CODATA) in 2005 [1], The following tables contain the information that is relevant for molecular energetics [1,2]. [Pg.267]

Identification of free radicals. The existence of free radicals in carbon has been shown by electron spin resonance (e.s.r.) techniques by a large number of scientists, notably by Bennett, Ingram, and Tapley (95), Etienne and Uebersfeld (96a), Uebersfeld etal. (966),andMrozowski and Andrew (97). It is not possible to summarize here all publications dealing with e.s.r. measurements on carbon. Attempts at chemical identification by combination with free radicals were made. The reaction with benzidine blue was used by Garten and Sutherland (98). The reagent is obtained by controlled oxidation of benzidine. It is very unstable, however, and other methods proved to be better suited. [Pg.206]

A number of excellent reviews on the 1,2,4,5-tetrazines (39) have been published. The first, by Wiley in 1956 (56HC(10)179), covered the literature through Chemical Abstracts 1950 a second, by Wystrach, appeared eleven years later (B-67MI22101), and finally in 1978 Wiley comprehensively reviewed the whole literature through Chemical Abstracts 1978 (78HC(33)1075). Since that time about 350 publications dealing with physical, chemical or biochemical aspects of the 1,2,4,5-tetrazines have been covered by Chemical Abstracts. [Pg.536]

The Pesticide Index (ref. 14) lists the following categories of pesticides acaricides, attractants, chemosterilants, defoliants, fungicides, herbicides, insecticides, molluscicides, nematicides, plant regulators, repellents, and rodenticides. Listings are in alphabetical order with structural and molecular formulae for single chemical entities. Other data include CAS nomenclature and number Wiswesser Line Notation LD-50 and test animal data when available physical appearance and safety information. Also provided are a CAS nomenclature index separate molecular (line) formulae of chemicals identified by their common names a separate section of Wiswesser line notations, also with common names an appendix of manufacturers, and an appendix of recent publications dealing with pesticide names. [Pg.317]

A significant fraction, however, of the documents in the scientific literature dealing with chemical entities and their biological effects are not composed of trivial names for the compounds under investigation. For the automated analysis of the chemical named entities in these publications, we need to use other methods. In principle, it should be possible to use rule-based approaches to identify IUPAC names (and other forms of IUPAC-like expressions), in particular, because the IUPAC name construction itself is based on rules. However, IUPAC names are neither unambiguous, nor can they easily be checked automatically for compliance with IUPAC nomenclature rules. In fact, most IUPAC-like expressions in patent literature seem to be not compliant with the IUPAC nomenclature, and cannot easily be converted into structures.40... [Pg.129]

A great number of publications deal with the reaction of nitration [7-20], At the same time, volumes literature on nitro heterocycles has not been systematized until the present time. Direct nitration of some five-membered heterocycles such as pyrroles, furans, thiophenes, pyrazoles, imidazoles, and thiazoles has been discussed by Katritzky [21, 22], Some synthetic routes to nitrated six-membered nitrogen-containing aromatic heterocycles [23], as well as the nitration of oxo-pyrimidines and -imidazoles [24], and quantum-chemical studies of the nitration of benzazoles [25] have been reported. [Pg.452]
