Protective task

The lack of financial profit of the production of orphan drug production is the main obstacle in achievement of the protection task. NBC orphan drugs (NBC-OD) are necessary in large amount, only in critical situations (war, natural or technological disaster, terrorist attack etc ). Practically all NBC-OD, with very few exceptions, like anthrax vaccine, have no civil use, as drugs. [Pg.135]

Training to provide knowledge of process operations and job execution skills is an important aspect of incident and fire prevention. In addition to job skills training, employees must be trained to properly execute fire protection tasks. A training requirements matrix for some of the elements of fire protection and the personnel that require training is illustrated in Table 4-1. [Pg.36]

The practical solution of these protection tasks are connected to specific chemical agents, well engineered polymer additives, elaborated mainly for the stabilization of general purpose polymers [8], The radiation stabilizers, called antirads represent only a modest, but flourishing fraction of that thermo-oxidative- and UV stabilizers. [Pg.92]

In both fields the polymers fulfill coating and protective tasks. [Pg.77]

The specific reliability demands on process control equipment are dealt with in Chap. 11. Initially the protection objective for plant design and operation was already mentioned avoiding major hazards for man, environment and valuable property. In order to achieve this so-called protective tasks have to be carried out. Several of these tasks are needed to reach the objective. In general, alternatives... [Pg.104]

In order to solve a protective task at least two mutually independent measures have normally to be implemented. Thus, if there is a failure in one of them (including dependent failures) at least one protective measure is still available (single failure criterion, principle of redundancy). It has to be observed that there may be a failure in any element of a protective measure (sensor, amplifier etc.), i.e. the redundancy has to exist all the way through. [Pg.105]

The protective tasks to be solved are defined for the events under (1) (e.g. avoiding an uncontrofled chemical reaction)... [Pg.107]

If two (or more) protective measures (redundancy) are employed for solving a protective task, preferably equipment working according to different physical principles is to be used (diverse redundancy). Protective measures totally made up of technical elements are preferred to those involving organizational ones. [Pg.107]

There are various established ways of graphically presenting the information and we are going to see three examples. Let s take the example of a proposed safety function for a reactor protection task as outlined in Figure 4.6 and begin wifii a narrative description of the functional safety requirements. [Pg.119]

The primary requirement for the protection system should be to carry out its specified protective tasks adequately. Nevertheless, the number of spurious initiations should be minimized to the extent practicable since they can lead to the following ... [Pg.48]

For each protective task identified whose operation may be controlled by manual means from the outset or after initiation, the following should be documented ... [Pg.76]

For the protective tasks, a precise and clear description of plant conditions and the indicators of these conditions, whose achievement defines completion of the protective task, should be documented. [Pg.77]
