There are certain features of the LME that might make it prone (along with other commodity futures markets) to destabilising speculation or, indeed, to manipulation by monopolistic trading elements. These include the system of specific delivery or prompt dates, closely specified deliverable qualities of material, and the high trading volume in fiitures contracts relative to the supply of deliverable cash metal. Your planning and delivery procedures need to record estimated and actual delivery dates and the data collected and analyzed through a delivery performance monitoring procedure. When targets are not met you should investigate the cause under the corrective action procedures and formulate corrective action plans. Where the cause is found to be a failure of the customer to supply some vital information or equipment, it would be prudent not to wait for the periodic analysis but to react promptly.

The prevalence of the heme in O2 metabolism and the discovery in the 1960s that metallophthalocyanines adsorbed on graphite catalyze four-electron reduction of O2 have prompted intense interest in metaUoporphyrins as molecular electrocatalysts for the ORR. The technological motivation behind this work is the desire for a Pt-ffee cathodic catalyst for low temperature fuel cells. To date, three types of metaUoporphyrins have attracted most attention (i) simple porphyrins that are accessible within one or two steps and are typically available commercially (ii) cofacial porphyrins in which two porphyrin macrocycles are confined in an approximately stacked (face-to-face) geometry and (iii) biomimetic catalysts, which are highly elaborate porphyrins designed to reproduce the stereoelectronic properties of the 02-reducing site of cytochrome oxidase.

In this review, the potential uses of sonochemistry for the preparation of monometallic and bimetallic metal nanoparticles and metal-loaded semiconductor nanoparticles have been highlighted. While specific examples available in the literature were discussed, the sonochemical technique seems to offer a platform technique that could be used for synthesizing a variety of functional materials. Most of the studies to date deal with laboratory scale exploration , it would be ideal if the concepts are tested under large scale experimental conditions involving specific applications. The authors sincerely hope that the information provided in this review would prompt such experimental investigation in a new dimension. 

The study must be carried out in accordance with the study plan, and all data generated must be recorded promptly and signed or initialled and dated. Any corrections must identify who made the correction, when and why. The original data must remain visible. If any changes have to be made to the study plan, these have to be approved by the Study Director, in conjunction with the customer, and documented. The record has to explain why the change was made and the details of the change. 

The success of bis(oxazolines) (43) in the copper-catalyzed cyclopropanation reaction has prompted numerous researchers to modify these structures in an attempt to improve the catalysts. To date, none have approached the success and generality exhibited by /erf-butyl bis(oxazoline) (55c) although some afford improved selectivities in specific cases. As a corollary to its success in this reaction, the copper-catalyzed cyclopropanation has taken on the aspects of a testing ground for new bis(oxazoline)-based ligands. The plethora of publications in this area will be summarily condensed in the rest of this section, and emphasis will be placed only on those ligands that provide improvements over 55c and those publications that deal with structural or mechanistic advances. 

Kohnstamm encountered the kinds of delays that often plague new systems and several times had to push back the initial shipping date. What it found most trying, perhaps because it was beyond its control, were the extensive delays in receiving certificates from the Board. The Board s procedure was cumbersome and slow. Kohnstamm sent certificates and samples to the Board in Washington where they were checked for form and completeness. These went next to the Bureau of Chemistry s New York laboratory where a single chemist, in addition to other duties, repeated all the tests the firm had done on the dye to see if it indeed matched the results and quality claimed. The chemist then sent his report to Hesse. If Hesse approved it, he informed the Board, who only then issued a certificate and assigned a lot number (52, 53). In exasperation, the company advertised in May that it would ship all orders on hand on June 1 "unless the US laboratory fails to check up our certifications. . . promptly, which has been the case up to now, but we have every reason to believe they will do more expeditious work on them in the future" (54). 

Although the simple hydroxamate analogues of arachidonic acid showed no anti-inflammatory activity, the concept prompted a number of research groups to explore hydroxamic acids with more stable lipophilic residues. This approach has yielded some of the most interesting anti-inflammatory 5-LO inhibitors reported to date. 

Each study is given a unique identification and it is conducted in accordance with the study plan. The analyst that performs the tests has the responsibility to record the laboratory data promptly, accurately and legibly. Any changes in the raw data should be made so as not to obscure the previous entry, should indicate the reason for change and should be dated and signed or initialled by the person making the change. 

Mailing lists must be kept up-to-date. Requests to be removed from promotional mailing lists must be complied with promptly and no name may be restored except at the addressee s request or with their permission. 

Finding 2. Decisions on the end use and identification of the ultimate owner of Johnston Island or other chemical disposal facilities have not been reached in a timely way. For J AC ADS, the need for prompt action on this matter at a high level was pointed out in a letter report of this committee dated May 4, 2000 (NRC, 2000a). Regulatory requirements and analytical procedures/protocols to meet end-state requirements for JAC ADS were not completed as of the writing of this report.
