Program for hydraulic calculations

A program for hydraulic calculations, hydraulics.exe, has been developed to estimate pressure drop for noncompressible fluids, compressible fluids, and two-phase fluids. The main form has been divided into a number of frames for input and results. Calculations can be performed using either SI or English units (SI unit by default). The units are fixed ones, and the program does not allow for change of individual units. [Pg.176]

A computer program for calculating fluid hammer phenomena in sodium and water circuits of the CEFR has been prepared by Qinghua University. Due to the pool hydraulic properties, there is no any fluid hammer phenomenon at some transient conditions (Table 4)... [Pg.24]

Tool for line sizing is a ccunputer program able to calculate line pressure drop and velocity for vapor, liquid, two-phase flow, gravity flow, or slwy flow. The computer program can be a hydraulic spreadsheet able to calculate the pressure profile of a hydraulic loop, or it can be a computer program which is able to calculate line pressure drop and velocity at different line size. [Pg.121]

This full plant model captures some system thermal-hydraulic behavior that is not included in the heat balance spreadsheet programs. For example, the heat balance programs do not solve the momentum and energy equations to define the local working gas temperature and pressure. As shown in Figure 12-3, the gas temperature leaving the reactor (1150 K) is the same as that entering the turbine. In reality, and as modeled in TRACE, the gas temperature will be a function of the local pressure and velocity. Therefore, the TRACE results and heat balance spreadsheet calculations will never exactly match. [Pg.593]

The quantities K and m may also be found by plotting p vs. Q (flowrate) on log-log graph paper. Here, an outline of a hydraulic program design for the maximum jet impact force is presented. The jet impact force F. (lb) is calculated from... [Pg.1098]

The computer program PROG62 sizes the centrifugal pump for the given flow rate and fluid characteristics. The program calculates the hydraulic brake horsepower required by the pump and the actual brake horsepower. In addition, the program computes the available net positive suction head (NPSH) and the pump efficiency. Table 6-7 shows the input data and results of the pump hydraulic design calculation. The available NPSH is 64 ft, and the actual brake horsepower required for the pump operation is 7.0hp, with a pump efficiency of 68%. [Pg.452]
