Products farmed

We are presently going through a critical phase of conversion in agriculture requiring solutions for reconciling widely differing dimensions, namely, agricultural productivity, farm economic sustainability, environmental protection and social aspects. 

This profile becomes relevant as agricultural lands are converted. Because A Horizon soils from productive farms are valuable and nutrient-rich, land buyers usually treat them as a mineable resource for resale. Prior to construction, therefore, tractors and land moving equipment scrape the many tons of valuable soil off the surface and cart it away (consider a 100 square yard site scraped to the depth of just a few feet will produce around ten tons of soil at retail, 40-pound bags sell for 6 each). This leaves a far thinner layer of good soil near the surface. Even where intentional removal of topsoil is not conducted, construction typically leads to large-scale erosion of this valuable topsoil layer that, coupled with compaction from heavy equipment and machinery, later makes for a poor growing environment. ... 

Despite the strong increase in production, farm gate prices at harvest time in 2006 were only slightly lower than in 2005. On average, farmers fetched US 94/kg for fresh opium and US 138/kg for dry opium. During 2006, trader prices for dry opium were relatively stable.

Although fluoride anion is a worse leaving group than chloride anion, the product farmed by ejection of fluoride, Z, predominates, probably because its elimination creates a double bond conjugated with the aromatic ring.

In the solar H2 production farm, the produced amount of the solar methanol will be reduced to 1/4, since the solar share in the solar methanol is increased from 26% (coal) to 100% (recovered COj). This will result in the increase in the solar methanol cost by 4 times, 0.6x4= 2.4 /gallon methanol (This cost dose not include the cost for CO recovery). Thus, the solar methanol produced by 100% of solar energy (solar H2) and the recovered CO2 can not be competitive to the present cost, even though it is produced by solar thermochemical process using the SCOT-solar farm. This suggests that there is an optimum where the solar methanol cost is competitive and the coal is replace by the solar Hj with a maximum solar share. 

Agricultural surplus is used for the production of ethanol in the United States and provides economic benefits to farmers and to the farming economy. By 1990, almost 360 million bushels of surplus grain were being used to produce ethanol. It is estimated that, in that year, due to ethanol production, farm income increased by some 750 million, federal farm program costs dropped by 600 million and crude oil imports fell by over forty million barrels. 

During the 1990s many enterprises entered the segment of wine made from organically grown grapes at all supply-chain steps production (farms), processing (cooperatives) or industry (Castaldi, 2000).

General data requirements have been described (ISO, 2006 LEAP, 2014a). However, for fibre derived from animals there is a unique requirement to fully account for resource use and environmental emissions directly from all animals associated with the production of fibre. This may require accounting for multiple farms, for example, some breeding animals reared on a different farm than the main production farm or surplus animals raised off farm and shorn before being sold for meat processing.

Farm vehicles — See 383.3(d)(l). The vehicle must be used to transport either agricultural products, farm machinery, farm supplies, or both, to or from a farm within 150 miles. This exception only applies if the state decides to exempt these vehicles. 

Livestock supplementation. Cobalt-deficient fodder such as grasses (contain less than 0.08 ppm) may cause serious losses of livestock and lead to vitamin Bn deficiency in humans consuming animal products. Farm animals utilize relatively small amounts of vitamin Bn, ranging from 0.05 to 0.5 mg per kg of their weight, but its content in animal feed is also very low. An effective utilization of the vitamin is due to the high affinity binding proteins.
