Processing/structure/properties summaries

At this time, we have completed our processing/structure/properties/performance commentary for steels. By way of summary. Figure 11.29 shows relationships of these processing, structure, and property elements for this group of alloys. It was compiled from summaries provided in previous chapters and, in addition, includes topics discussed in this chapter. [Pg.460]

Processing/Structure/Properties/Performance correlations and summary concept maps for four materials (steels, glass-ceramics, polymer fibers, and silicon semiconductors), which integrate important concepts from chapter to chapter... [Pg.973]

The reactions of germanium with oxygen and with nitrogen are reviewed. Particular emphasis has been placed on the relationship between the structure and electronic properties of the oxide and nitride films formed on single crystal germanium surfaces under different processing conditions. A summary of the electronic properties reported is presented and some conclusions are offered based on the recent literature. [Pg.178]

Research on plasma-deposited a-C(N) H films has been frequently included in the general discussion of carbon nitride solids [2, 3]. However, the presence of hydrogen in its composition, and the complexity of the deposition process, which introduces the nitrogen species in the already intricate hydrocarbon plasma-deposition mechanism, make a-C(N) H films deserve special consideration. This is the aim of the present work to review and to discuss the main results on the growth, structure, and properties of plasma-deposited a-C(N) H films. As this subject is closely related to a-C H films, a summary of the main aspects relative to the plasma deposition of a-C H films, their structure, and the relationship between the main process parameters governing film structure and properties is presented... [Pg.218]

In summary, the Zn-Al and Zn-Ga based-hydrotalcites were found as very effective supports for docking a Rh(TPPTS)3Cl complex. The process was carried out via ionic exchange and occurred without any damage of die support structure or of the complex. The resulted catalysts were found to catalyze the cyclization of acetylenic carboxylic acids to the corresponding 5-membered ring heterocycles in good to excellent yields. The basic properties of the support also allow a clean and selective reaction of unsubstituted acetylenic carboxylic acids. [Pg.307]

This chapter provides a concise summary of the most important concepts and characteristics of CNTs including structural aspects (i.e. chirality, defects, doping), properties (i.e. mechanical, electronic, thermal), synthesis and characterization techniques and post-processing strategies (i.e. purification, separation, functionalization), and is thus intended as an introduction for newcomers. [Pg.5]
