Proactive proactivity Initiating

The Guide to Process Safety is designed to help with implementation of the Responsible Care Process Safety Code (SOCMA, 1999). The guide presents voluntary, proactive initiatives for the continuous improvement of process safety performance. 

But managers also need to be able to rise above the pressures that keep them perpetually reacting to events the need to keep the workflow flowing, respond to Instructions and requests, attend meetings, and deal with the myriad of other events and problems that conspire to exclude proactive initiatives from managers agendas. 

These standards also target highly hazardous chemicals and radioactive substances that have the potential to cause catastrophic incidents. This standard as a whole is to help employees in their efforts to prevent or mitigate the episodic chemical releases that could lead to a catastrophe in the workplace, and the possibility of the surrovmding community to control these types of hazards. Employers must develop the necessary expertise, experience, judgment, and proactive initiative within their workforce to properly implement and maintain an... 

Right now, sustainability is a journey. .. maybe someday, if we are successful, it will be an endpoint. The chemical industry took the first step of the journey in 1985 with Responsible Care . Responsible Care was fundamentally about taking responsibility for our operations, and through product stewardship, our products throughout the lifecycle. Not a bad start in fact, for the time, an amazingly proactive initiative. 

Employers need to develop the necessary expertise, experiences, judgement, and proactive initiative within their workforce to properly implement and maintain an effective process safety management program [1, Appendix C],... 

A typical outcome is a link between one Sense If descriptor and one or several flavourist word(s), or between one flavourists word and one or several Sense If descriptor(s) (Fig. 18.1). Thanks to these proactive initiatives, sensory experts are enabled to adapt their speech when they communicate their insights to flavourists, who will better understand them and therefore successfully use them in their creation processes. 

This paper has dealt with a wide range of international and national perspectives on technical education. The issues discussed have both long-term and short-term implications. The imperatives of globalization and internationalization demand prompt and purposeful responses and proactive initiatives if we want to achieve competitiveness, productivity, and national prosperity. 

On the other hand, companies are aware of the fact that project engineers cannot meet all demands. For this reason, the relevant further professional education should not be neglected. Proactively initiated measures like language courses at adult education centres or professional seminars at the Haus der Technik (House of Technology) in Essen, for example, or at the Technischen Akademie of Wuppertal (Technical Academy of Wuppertal) will be appropriate. 

Under the circumstances, this landmark treaty leaves no room for doubt that it is a valuable contribution towards the enhancement of collaboration between States to curb unlawful acts against international civil aviation. The abovementioned features of the Beijing Treaty undoubtedly makes it a timely and proactive initiative of ICAO and the international aviation community. 

Identification of critical tasks. This is an important initial step as it identifies the areas where application of proactive error reduction approaches will produce the greatest benefits (see Chapter 5)... 

In the previous section I have described some researches which originated from me wishing to test certain alleged observations and various ideas which seemed questionable, and therefore that work has mainly a reactive character. In the present section I will outline some proactive researches, that is investigations which started with me at Keele and which initiated new lines of enquiry. It so happens that many of the researches of this type were concerned with the polymerisation of dioxacycloalkanes, the properties of oxonium ions, the polarography of carbenium and oxonium ions and various kinds of BIE, and they therefore fall outside the scope of this review but there were enough proactive researches on alkenes to make a story of steadily evolving ideas. 

Proactivity - take some initiative a reactive style of managing allows less scope for being effective. 

The top right hand cell in Figure 3.1, leadership through innovation , represents what is probably most usually regsu -ded as leadership the proactive, creative initiation of change. 

A corrective action is initiated to correct the cause of an identified nonconformity and to prevent it or similar problems from reoccurring. It may include initial and follow-up actions (e.g., conducted after root cause analysis). Current quality system models and the cGMP regulations emphasize corrective actions and require that actions be documented. Under current quality system models, preventive actions include actions taken in response to quality data to address the cause of potential nonconformities to prevent their occurrence. An effective CAPA system therefore includes both reactive and proactive components. The effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions should be evaluated using objective criteria when possible and the evaluation documented. 

The Safer Detergents Stewardship Initiative (SDSI) addressed key environmental, economic, and product development issues in the surfactant world to drive change, especially in the cleaning products industry. Many companies were aware of the concerns for NPEs and with the growing number of alternatives that could offer equivalency in function and cost. Some had proactively switched to safer surfactants. 

When writing your resume, be sure to sell yourself—use phrases like responsible for, initiated, strategy execution, international, oversee. Your potential employers need to see that you are a really proactive person. Every employer wants someone who will take the initiative and get results."... 

Initiative. Organizations and employees are more effective when they are proactive, not reactive. 

Spartech has introduced a Green Initiative to provide environmentally-friendly solutions for customer, shareholders, employees and the environment. Their Green mission states that Spartech will aggressively and proactively pursue material solutions and production practices that minimise the effect on the environment.
