Power Take Off

For current consoHdation, the basic circuits, used at each of the multiple power take-off points, are stacked into a Christmas tree topology to form a single power take-off terminal pair. Scale-up of these devices to commercial sizes is not expected to be a problem, as standard electrical components are available for all sizes considered. A different type of consoHdation scheme developed (117), uses dc to ac converters to connect the individual electrodes to the consoHdation point. The current from each electrode can be individually controUed by the converter, which can either absorb energy from or deHver energy to the path between the electrode and the consoHdation point. This scheme offers the potential capabiHty of controlling the current level of each electrode pair. [Pg.434]

Power Take-Off From Engine or Transmission. This type of system is limited to tmcks and there are several take-off means available. Most are some form of electric power generation equipment, belt-driven from the engine crankshaft, which produces either a regulated a-c voltage or rectified direct current for the compressor and fan motors in the body. [Pg.69]

The particular cells that I had were 5" in width and height. I laid out the cells on the fiberboard to see how many I could fit in the 26" X 28" space with enough space left for tab and bus ribbon connects as well as enough space to stay comfortably away from the metal edges. After drilling the screw holes, measure, mark and drill the power take off holes. One way to do this is to construct the power take off box first. Any size project box from any electronic supplier or store can be used. [Pg.47]

When the outlet box has dried, position it on the back of the panel where you want to put the take off holes. Next, cut two pieces of V4" wide by. 005 thick tab ribbon. These tabs are the power take off tabs. They can be cut long, and trimmed to the desired length when the fuel cell is finally assembled. One tab is connected to the hydrogen side take off connector and the other to the oxygen side edge take off connector. You will be able to solder one of the takeoff tabs with the compression screws on, but the other takeoff is on the other side and you will need to solder that when you take the sandwich off the PVC plate and turn it around. Tin the tabs before soldering. Cover a portion of the power take off tabs with a liquid electrical tape to insulate them from touching the compression screws and aluminum channel bars. [Pg.230]

This seeks through regulations to protect agricultural workers and others working on the land. Regulations have been made to cover avoidance of accidents to children, circular saws, first aid, field and stationary machinery, threshers and bailers, power take-offs, ladders, lifting heavy weights and tractor cabs. [Pg.54]

This type of implement consists of curved blades which rotate around a horizontal shaft set at right angles to the direction of travel. The shaft is driven from the power take-off of the tractor depth is controlled by a land wheel or skid. This implement can produce a good tilth in difficult conditions and, in many cases, it can replace all other implements in seedbed preparation. A light fluffy tilth is sometimes produced which may cap easily if wet weather follows. The fineness of tilth can be controlled by the forward speed of the tractor for example, a fast speed can produce a coarse tilth. It is a very useful implement for mixing crop remains into the soil. The rotating action of the blades helps to drive the implement forward and so extra care must be taken when going down steep slopes. [Pg.210]
