Portable data files

PDF417 is a multirow, continuous symbology capable of encoding large quantities of information. It s just what its name suggests—a Portable Data File.

The server and client PCs were HP nx9030 and nx9010 portable computers, respectively, running Windows XP. They were configured to maximize the resources allocated to the present work. Batch command files were written to enable the TCP, UDP and FTP tests. The results were obtained in batch mode and written as data files to the client PC disk. Each PC had a second network adapter, to permit remote control from the official IP Unit network, via switch. 

This guidance document governs how electronic files should be sent to the FDA. Currently, the FDA requests that electronic documents be submitted as Portable Document Format (PDF) files. The PDF page should be a standard 8.5" x 11" page with 1" margins and 12-point font. Data sets are currently to be sent to the FDA as SAS XPORT transport format files. In the future it is likely that data sets will be required to be sent as XMF files, probably formatted in the CDISC ODM.

Bluetooth has been heralded as the low-power wireless standard of the future, but it is very much a high-bandwidth technology, designed to integrate portable devices into this communications infrastructure, and is relatively power... 

File format All files should be submitted in portable document format (PDF). The version of Acrobat Reader to be used for review should be confirmed with the agency. Electronic data sets should be provided in SAS System XPORT transport format (version 5 SAS transport file). 

To submit electronically a request for a meeting or teleconference, the sponsor should use the Request for a Meeting or Teleconference form provided by the CVM (Form FDA 34895 OMB No. 0910-0452). The sponsor should enter the data directly into an Adobe Acrobat form, attach the Agenda for the meeting, and submit the form to CVM as an Adobe portable document format (PDF) file (compatible with Adobe Acrobat 6.0).6 The electronic submission of a request for meeting or teleconference is part of the Center s ongoing initiative to provide a method for paperless submissions. 

The upper part of the overburden is continuously subject to a variety of natural processes, which include seasonal changes to the element contents and ratios of elements in sampled material. It is necessary to take these changes into account when interpreting the results. Therefore, certain observations must be recorded during the fieldwork. A special field form is normally designed for collecting the relevant data. Portable computers are recommended to avoid a potential source of error when transferring the data from the forms to computer files at the office. 

Certificates of analysis are created electronically from the data stored in a laboratory information management system (LIMS). The certificates are signed electronically by the qualified person and may be printed as secured files in portable format. 

In the digital age, ideas and information will be reprocessed and reused. Their portability and, consequently, their usefulness are dependent on the ability to find their particular data bit streams within a vast universe of binary number sequences. As the mass of documents in an enterprise EDMS grows and the filing structure that accommodates it both broadens and deepens, retrieving any specific item from the repository becomes more difficult. Speedy and accurate search and retrieval are achieved by allowing searches based on document content, attributes, or both. Users must also be able to save their queries for future reuse and store their queries in a centrally administered, single location. A simple FIND function must allow users to search either all versions of files or to restrict a search to only current versions of files. The system must validate and maintain a controlled list of category values and a controlled list of status values. 

A number of file formats exist which serve different purposes in the area of textual data exchange. The simplest of them is of course plain 7-bit ASCII, and also ISO 8859-x text exchange is quite portable. The shortcomings of these text formats are that they neither support stylistic attributes nor content-based markup. 

A notable hybrid between representation by geometrical objects and structure data is the Molecular Inventor (MI) system from Silicon Graphics. MI is based on the standard Inventor file format, which is very similar to VRML 1,0, In addition to normal Inventor nodes, a MI file contains additional nodes which describe a chemical structure and attached physicochemical data. Because both arbitrary visualizations and structure-oriented data for potential extraction and further processing are stored together in one file, the best features from both approaches are combined. The major problem is portability MI viewers are available for free, only for Silicon Graphics platforms. Commercial versions for PCs can now be purchased. Compared to the much easier and generally free availability of viewers both for pure VRML and for chemical MIME data, this severely reduces the general acceptance of this product.
