Polymer Tailoring

A hydrocarbon prepolymer containing terminal carboxyl groups (28) is available to the propellant chemist. These polymers were synthesized to eliminate some of the variables found in the copolymers. The carboxyl groups can be made of the same types with like reactivity. These linear non-branched polymers impart greater extensibility to elastomeric formulations. The chemistry in propellants is similar to the random functionality polymer. As 20 years of the chemistry of crosslinked propellant binders is reviewed, one familiar with the art cannot fail to predict solid propellant formulations using these polymers tailored to the specific requirements of the solid rocket design with the confidence that any discipline of science can be practiced. [Pg.89]

Polymer tailoring (macromolecular substitution) in the presence of catalysts is not without its own pitfalls, which can be summarized as follows ... [Pg.67]

The global manufacturing and marketing of Antiblaze NP and NK have been taken over from Rhodia Consumer Specialities by Polymer Tailoring. [Pg.36]

After a number of ownership changes, Rhodia Consumer Specialties Antiblaze FR business (once part of Albright and Wilson, Oldbury, UK) was sold to Polymer Tailoring of Shropshire in the UK. [Pg.174]

Smart biomaterials will likely be resorbable polymers tailored at the molecular level and able to respond to changes in the miCToenvironment and interactions with tissue cells. A great challenge for the future development of biomaterials is the controlled differentiation of target cells in the presence of biomaterials. Typically, differentiation is controlled by soluble growth factors and cytokines. [Pg.114]
