Polymer light-emitting diodes applications

As a class of n-type organic semiconductors, PBI derivatives have received considerable attention for a variety of applications [312, 313], for example, for organic or polymer light-emitting diodes (OLEDs and PLEDs) [314, 315], thin-film organic field-effect transistors (OFETs) [316, 317], solar cells [318, 319], and liquid crystals [320]. They are also interesting candidates for single-molecule device applications, such as sensors [321], molecular wires [322], or transistors [141]. [Pg.166]

These novel properties are the basis for a number of application including polymer light emitting diodes (LEDs), polymer light-emitting electrochemical cells (LECs), conducting polymers as electrochromic materials, polymer photodetectors and polymer photovoltaic cells. These application areas are discussed in detail in Section VII. [Pg.109]

Progress has been made in the search for new lanthanide /3-diketonates as sources of luminescence, with application in the fabrication of polymer light-emitting diodes for low-cost, full-color, flat-panel displays.16,17 Moreover, some complexes seem promising as chiral NMR reagents for the determination of enantiomeric purity18,19 and prospective catalysts in many organic syntheses.20... [Pg.99]

CPs have been proven to be excellent materials for optoelectronic applications, e.g. polymer light-emitting diodes and solar cells etc. [106,121]. Numerous smdies have been devoted to this area with the primary focus on thin-film or bulk materials. For CPNWs in particular, recent studies have shown that these materials are very promising candidates for efficient nanoscale photovoltaic devices [30,52,54,57]. Figure 10.53 shows the optical response of a single CPNW in terms of photocurrent towards light exposure [52]. [Pg.455]

According to the similar method, a fiber-shaped polymer light-emitting diode (PLED) was developed on the PET fiber by adip-coatingmethod exceptfor the thermal-evaporation of the outermost Al semitransparent electrode. This PET-based fiber-shaped PLED showed a high luminance of over 1000 cd m which was high enough for application in wearable... [Pg.345]

Conjugated polymers have found widespread applications in semiconducting devices and fluorescent sensing schemes. They are now incorporated as emitter layers into commercially produced polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs). What makes conjugated polymers alluring ... [Pg.160]

Polyfluorenes have been developed as promising candidates in organic electronics applications such as polymer light-emitting diodes (PLEDs) and polymer transistors. In the early stages of development, the relationships between polymer structure and device performance were investigated. This is still an important... [Pg.122]
