Poly processing properties

The processing properties of poly(vinyl chloride) has been improved by copolymerizing vinyl chloride with a small amount of vinyl alkyl ether. Copolymers of vinyl alkyl ethers and maleic anhydride arc used as water soluble thickeners, paper additives, textile assistants and in cleaning formulations. 

Nylon-6,6 can be made into articles with tensile strengths around 12,000 psi or into other articles with tensile strengths around 120,000 psi. Mechanical and processing properties of blends of poly(viityl chloride) (PVC) with di-isodecyl phthalate (DIDP) and thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) were compared with di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DOP).
